Network issues Cyanogenmod 6.1

Ok so just last night i went ahead and flashed the new cyanogenmod 6.1 rom on my phone (was originally running fresh 2.4)

Everything is working perfectly from what i can tell, and i would like to stay with this rom, except my internet doesnt work.

I can dial out, talk to people and whatnot, but whenever i try to access the internet via 3g through the stock browser, youtube, market, etc., I get a network not connected message.

At first i thought it was a problem with sprint, so i called and told them my situation, bad idea. Imagine tech support reading his script to get the phone to update, and me trying to figure out what hes talking about in Cyanogenmod :P

I did notice however when i go to settings, about phone, status, and scroll down to Mobile network state, It is disconnected

Any thoughts? Has anyone had this same problem they fixed?

Thanks, graci, muchos buenos nachos.

I think i did, im not sure. All i know is when my phone came back on i had to put everything back on it. so i guess i did

Im kinda new at this sorta thing.

I would go ahead and reflash the rom you are running right now. Make a nandroid first, boot to recovery and wipe davlik cache and cache, then reflash the rom. Then reboot the phone

Just tried that, and it didnt work as well. I think i might try to install the stock rom, then reflash to cyanogen. maybe thatll help

Ok I uninstalled the Stock rom, unrooted and all, and the Internet works fine now. I will do a nandroid, and and flash cm 6.1 again and find out if this fixed it :)

Cool i got it to work, after it started working in the stock rom, I did another nandroid backup, then wiped memory and flashed the cyanogenmod 6.1 rom, along with the google apps and stuff. everything seems to be working now

Thanks for tips guys

i had a situation similar to this when i was on Fresh ROM, and did a ESN swap. i was able to go back to a factory ROM using the RUU, but with CM6, there's no way to go about that route.

i went online to search forums and came across your thread. could you explain how you were able to go back to a factory ROM from CM6? i just recently did another ESN swap, and the network connection was lost.

thanks

You should be able to do the ruu regardless of what rom you are running

RUU doesn't work with the new USB interface thing on Froyo. on both Cyanogen and XDA sites, they mention this. phone can't even be detected.

you know what.. i just caught an idea. i'll flash back to Fresh ROM that has the older USB interface thing, and then flash with RUU. that should work.

i'll be back to let everyone know my resolution.

I had no problem running the ruu with a phone running CM6.

Long story short, got my wife an Evo, she had the Sprint Hero rooted running CM6, wanted to give the Hero to my mother-in-law, ran the ruu on the Hero running CM6 (had the 2........5 on my computer from when I originally rooted) via usb, phone erased and was up and running in 10 minutes. No signs of the phone ever being rooted. When to the Sprint store, transfered the phone to my mother-in-laws line in 5 minutes. She know has a Sprint Hero
