Help Network problems

So i live in a place where I always have had full bars of 3g without having to roam and about 2 weeks ago i went home for spring break and ever since i got back i've been in extended network and it's really frustrating me.

I am rooted 2.2 with velocity

First off, Have you tried *228 then press 2 to update your Preferred Roaming List?

If so and you're still having the problem. I would check another phone in the same place and see if its the A.) Towers or B.) actually just your phone.

Verizon has been known to have towers down. It happens all the time. Maintenance... someone lays on the wrong button, who knows.

*228 says that they are unable to program my phone at this time. I've tried it multiple times. And Verizon phones around me are not in extended network.

Dumb question, but have you tried option 1 of just reprogramming the phone?

I get 3G but i decided to try that and it still didn't work...from what i heard, verizon doesn't charge extra for using extended network so it's not a huge deal...just annoying.

Call verizon. They should be able to fix it for ya

I called and apparently they don't have any of their own towers in my area anymore so it is correct in saying "Extended Network".

Thanks for the suggestions...i just hate customer service which is why it was my last resort...took me an hour to find out that one thing!
