Network Speed

btrig1990

Newbie
After some tweaking in QPST I tested my network speed and here is the before and after.

Location:South Florida
Server:Miami Florida

Before:
53 kbps download
128 kbps download

After:
130 kbps download
215 kbps upload

I'm interested to see others results and location.

nothing, network speed varies, connection to a server varies, usually speed test sites have multiple servers in a location and bandwidth load varies. the only way you could possibly make way in getting better network speed is by hard modding the amount of power the antenna takes and its transfer rates, or and i've noted this with clocking OC ur phones processor, that doesn't make a GREAT change but it was noticeable from 245mhz to full stock 600mhz

1. Data Tab: Service option=Pre 707

4. PPP Tab: Um: 1xEVDO Box checked
5. gpsOne Tab: PDE=IP

Please do before and after and post results to test my theories...I have not found much information on the settings but if you have any different combinations with positive results please post, or if you know what the settings mean please share.

Texas i used (speed.net)
Before:
31 kbps download
110 kbps download

After:
20kbps download<-- i ran three tests each one i restarted the app best result
933kbps upload <--i thought this could be wrong but i ran three test and i restarted the app just to see if it was buggy it gets as close every time

Cool. I'm gonna try that when I get home :)
I did have a trick but it's only for wifi.

I got 30Mbps with comcast at home, strange thing is I had a wireless N router but could never download faster than 1Mbps, I messed with channels, tried B, G, mixed, N alone. Nothing worked.

Why? I was using WPA Personal, as it turns out that actually limits your speed severly. You need to ALWAYS set it to WPA2 Personal. Not like most routers default to.
Now I get full 30Mbps to my android via wifi along with any other devices.

Just a useful lesson.
