Yes Sprint Spark network is on the way. I'm moving on. I find it amazing Sprint is not even done with NV and now it's the new Spark network. I'm not hating on Sprint just over the lies.

Oop's my bad. I should be more clear when using a word like lies.
I was told point blank from our Sprint rep face to face that the our service would not drop during the NV upgrade. I work for a large company with a Sprint tower right across the street from my building we have over 400 lines and all of the lines were down on many days. Now don't get me wrong when NV is working it's great. I work in a major market for Sprint Orange County Calif. We had one of the first NV towers in my county.
So my comment about the lies was not for spark as a matter of fact I got to see the spark first hand Sprint was trying to keep us from changing service. Nothing wrong with Sprint just need to work on one thing at a time. Then move on. I wish sprint all the best and I hope the new money helps. But for now me and my 400 lines are moving on. Heck we might even be back one day.
 
All I know is I have extremely slow 3g still in the greater Sacramento area. That's 1 million people. T-Mobile had LTE here early summer of 2013. At&t, Verizon, Metro PCS have all had LTE here for years. I work for Best Buy Mobile and the only time I deal with Sprint accounts are when people are porting there number to another carrier. And they always ask what's wrong with Sprint? I explain they are rebuilding there network nationwide, and they say, well its too late and explain how bad there experience on the Sprint network was. I say I know I have them too.
 
An 80 mile stretch of Interstate where I live has one 4g tower for the last six months the rest are poorly operating 3g. When i called cs to complain about the loss of voice capabilities I was told the area has 4g coverage. One tower in 80 miles is considered covered. Sitting in a Wal-Mart parking lot less than one mile from a 4g tower and the signal is so week it keeps switching back to 3g. Sure glad I switched my data card to big red 18 months ago, perfect 4g everyplace for now. We will see what happens in another year or two.
 
For the most part I am.

I've been to the dark side (AT&T) as well as over on the green grass (Verizon) that really is light brown. And they too have issues. Granted not one carrier is perfect, they all have issues be it in plans, coverage, device selection etc etc, But for the most part I am happy with Sprint.

They all talk the talk and give us marketing banter that we as gullible as we are take it in and accept it as truth, but the bottom line is they are all out to make money. Some networks are better than others in certain places (metro) while other do better elsewhere (rural). Myself, I get a good enough signal here in NYC, if I travel to Hawaii I won't. The same goes for other carriers in certain areas of the country. It is not just Sprint.

Now this is not pointed to anyone in particular but as i go through forums I am baffled by the ongoing Sprint hate. If a customer has left Sprint and no longer has any ties to the company, why do they insist on bashing the company in forums etc. I had on numerous occasions gotten quite pissed off at AT&T and Verizon over certain things and yet when I left them to come back to Sprint I did not stay in their forums to bash them or complain how terrible the CS, plan or Signal etc. I just left. I just don't get it with people that feel it is necessary to bash. If a new company is working out for you then congrats, don't continue in the old forum and continue the hate, just STFU and leave.

I'm happy with sprint as well. I'm not even in an area with 4G. (Triband device in a non upgraded area). I've checked out T-Mobile as well, which is great in my area (20-25mb/s)... so its not like I don't know what a fast network is like.

On the whole, their voice network has always been fine. I don't have problems with dropped calls. Sure their 3g can be miserable depending on your location (I've suffered through 0.05mb/s download speeds), but I've also seen how great their upgraded network is in areas like Chicago.

Its worth the wait for me. It should only be a few more months before I'll have LTE again.
 
Nope that wasn't actually directed at you, I believe you are still with Sprint, I'm referring to others that do not have Sprint and feel its okay to continue bashing it in the Sprint forums. Besides, I've been meaning to write that for quite a while now,
but.... if the shoe fits....Just make sure its shoelaced correctly so you won't trip as you leave out the door. :p ;)

All joking aside, it does gets tiresome seeing folks complain about a carrier if that person is using another carrier. Not just here in AF, I see it over at the Verizon and Magenta forums as well, it's like they were customers, didn't like it for whatever reason and went to another carrier but they still stay and huff and puff about the previous service in the previous carriers forum. Nobody wants to hear that. Unless the person has a solution to the problem with the engineering, business and marketing background to back it up then no one cares. Then again if they did they have the background, they would be working with the carrier to fix the problem. All it does is disrupt the forums. They should just move on and hope the new carrier fits their expectations well.

I don't remember ever having a dropped call with Sprint. I use to have VZW and worked for them at one time too and no matter where you go you are going to have sales reps that are going to mislead you or lie. Trust me VZW isn't any better. Also I can't live without unlimited data.

Didn't want to get in trouble for saying it, so I'll just say ditto...with what you've said. I never understood that, when people go out of their way to go into a forum, just to talk bad about a company they left.

Then again, just check out the podcasts for Phandroid...they bash Sprint every single time and none of them are even on Sprint...LOL.

I have been a pretty constant complainer regarding the NV rollout here in Wichita, KS. My service kept getting worse and worse. I seldom got even 200k on 3G, and 4G was non-existent. Voice service always worked well. My house happens to be in a dead spot. At most, I have 1 maybe 2 bars. If I go a couple houses down the street either direction, I have full signal, and even 4G.

Then suddenly, my 4G which had been over 15MB, dropped precipitously down to maybe 1 or 2MB. Curiously, my 3G went UP to 1MB or more. After a couple more weeks, my 4G has come back up to anywhere between 5MB and 12MB. My 3G has stayed around 1+MB. The only negatives I still have are, my house is still in a dead zone (and it isn't due to the construction of my house, I still get no signal all the way out in my driveway), and now I have started actually dropping voice calls, which hasn't happened to me in my prior decade or more with Sprint, living in this house.

What's my point? I dunno. Mostly just to reinforce the idea that although the NV upgrade is REALLY freaking painful for a while, it DOES appear to actually be working. Heck, I was even able to use Google Hangouts video chat with my wife on my way home from work last night.

Definitely have to agree. If any of you remembered, I was a long time Sprint supporter. Often times, I had to sit and listen to the incessant whining about how much Sprint sucked and I defended them til the end.

However, I had to choose what was easier on the family pocket while not sacrificing too much (network wise). Thus, I made the switch to T-Mobile about 6 months ago and I'm very happy with their service.

Either way, people should always do what is them for them and their families. People today are too obsessed with being followers and "me too" folk. Have your own identity and be your own person. It wouldn't kill someone to be a little original from time to time.
 
Sprint doesn't market here, so no one has to fight their marketing here.

So here's the thing. My daughter told me that the NV upgrade in Albuquerque is going terribly so I checked at s4gru and that's evidently true - because the fiber is being handled by Century Link (local land phone company) and they have all the fiber optic stuff screwed up. So service is poor and it's not the new towers.

Now I live in this spot where I get 2 Mbps on 3G easy.

And I went through the Century Link update for my home DSL for fiber optic recently and frankly that was a 2 month nightmare.

I was resigned to never seeing 4G, now I'm not sure I want to. :(
 
LOL. I received the same message for my area. I'm lucky to get 2mbps down with 4G LTE with my Note 2. If it's almost completed then we are screwed.

I got Sprint's message, but I don't pay attention to it. I'm just looking for LTE signal. My 3G avgs 1.5Mbps down and .9Mbps up. It's not changed much in the many years I've had Sprint so I doubt they'd invest in making it slightly faster. I wish they'd do 4G - a little frustrated that areas around me have some 4G. Even that's annoying because it should be more consistent. NJ's very densely populated so it's a missed opportunity.

Now, as to LTE - there's no compelling biz case for Sprint to move more aggressively if it just wants to maintain viability and it's current market share. The other players aren't doing anything to separate themselves. If they have speed or coverage advantages, those are offset by higher costs that can and have become barriers. The result is all this silly repackaging/rebranding/marketing as special data plans.

Sprint's NV and LTE should continue to focus on what matters: 1) value-priced, UNLIMITED data; and 2) reasonable speed and coverage in major markets - where Sprint currently vastly underperforms.

I just want my Sprint phone to have a strong 4G signal in the NY-NJ corridor. Until then, I'm just seeing NV and LTE as "what ifs." I still think I get enough to not leave or flame Sprint. I just wish I got a little more execution from them.
 
Hey, does anybody know when Sprint Spark will be heading to Boston or Massachusetts in general!? Also, does anybody know if The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is Sprint Spark compatible? It'll be a shame if it's not since it's the next big thing that's releasing.
