Help new "4g antenna is on" option.

i updated my EVO4g and notice that theres a new option.i can turn on my 4g and if there isn't a 4g signal,in the notification pull down it'll say that my 4g antenna is on and that if i tap it it'll scan for a 4g signal again.it seems to only scan when you want to look for a signal and if there isn't one it'll just pause and wait until you tap it again.my question is,will leaving my 4g on kill my battery even though it isn't searching for a signal anymore? before the update it would just scan for a signal nonstop.now it just seems to stop after a scan.

i dont think it'll kill your battery more than say, you leave your wifi on when your out and about. yeah it'll drain a little bit but not the same amount as it would if it was constantly scanning. Im sure someone with more knowledge will come along and give a more in depth answer.

I updated my evo about 2 days ago & now I have this 4g antenna notification on the top left corner of my screen. Really annoying & I think its draining my battery, I need a step by step to turn the notification off . Help !

Just go under the 4g settings on turn off 4g and the notification will go away. I don't think having that notification will necessarily kill your battery. If it was constantly scanning then it would.

this may be a fix to the constant scanning issue. it has yet to be determined.

once I am done with the pandora tests I will run some logs and see what is happening when the icon is up there in the notifications
