New Android Market. Love it or hate it??

It sucks that this update is completely random. Does anyone know how one can manually initiate or install the update for the market?
 
I thought I was the only one. I got my update last night while in the middle of updating Handcent. During the middle of the Handcent update, my Market closed on me and when I opened it up, it was the brand new version.

I have about 15 or so apps installed but now my Market only lists 5 as currently installed. For some reason, Handcent is listed in the "Not Installed" category when it IS installed. I hope a solution to our problem pops up soon. This is kind of annoying.

Edi0 I am running the OTA update to Gingerbead, so sideloading is enabled, I am not rooted or hacked in any way. So I said what the heck and tried to install the apk linked above. Well it gave me a message about replacing a system app or something, I clicked ok. Well it installed and works great. Just for the heck of it, I went into Menu --> settings --> applications --> manage applications __ market --> uninstall updated. Well it uninstalled the update and is back to normal. So if you install it, or it has already installed and you do not like it, just uninstall the update and you are back to normal.

I used that link and the new market installed fine and works great, thanks.
 
Under settings for your phone > applications > manage applications (all tab or "show all" or similar in menu) > find Market > there should be an "Uninstall updates" button
 
Won't that take you back to the original Market? Not the previous one?

That's exactly what it did. Oh well. Even that is better than the new POS.

With the new Market mine showed 3 applications under My Apps and gave no updates. After reverting I had like 4 updates.
 
it will take you back pretty far, yes, but then it *should* update itself again automatically as you use it -- slowly bringing you up to the latest officially released version with all the green curves and gradients.
 
The green curves was the one before the boxed/honeycomb one. Did they roll out the boxed one officially? I thought it was just leaked.
 
I personally quite like the look, much needed update, though the little bit of lag is slightly annoying, but other than that it looks nice and is fairly functional.
 
It hasn't turned up on mine yet - still on the green one (v 2.3.6).

I checked it out whilst I was trying MIUI latest update but It didnt last 2 minutes! I attempted to install my beloved blacked out market but It just wouldnt stick at all so I reverted back to my trusty old v.1.7.1
