Hello to all here,

After reading a few reviews i have just bought an Orange 'San Francisco' phone as i wanted something decent but relatively cheap whilst i am learning Android (never used before)
I would quite like to overclock & flash (is this similar to Jailbreaking the Iphone) if possible, what does flashing enable you to do on the phone that you couldn't do before..?
Are their apps available that automate the overclocking & flashing procedure (as i am a complete novice) also could someone recommend the must have things to install once the flashing is done.

Thanks for listening.

Welcome miseryguts, there are a few stickies you might want to take a look at here: San Francisco - All Things Root - Android Forums

Rooting (jailbreaking) allows you to do loads to your phone, overclock/underclock, backup your apps and data, theme it, remove apps etc and a load of other useful things you can't normally do.

There's no real way of automating the procedure, but the SF is one of the easiest phones to root and install a custom ROM on. If the methods in the stickies seem a bit difficult, you can try this method: How To Root The Orange San Francisco / ZTE Blade. When I rooted mine at first, that's what I used and it only took about half an hour from start to finish.

Have a read up of everything and let us know if you have any questions. :)

its a great choice of phone m8. basicly, flashing can take all the Orange rubbish off the phone and/or upgrade it to a newer version of android.
u can turn the 100qid phone into one that performs like a far more expensive one.
make sure u read the guides properly+if u have any problems..... ask the guy above me ^ lol
