New Evernote and S Pen

For anyone who might be interested, Evernote released an update to their app that now lets you use the S Pen to make notes. You can then add actual typed notes or any of the other usual stuff to the note as well (pics, audio, video). I'm glad to see that at least one app is going all out to make the most of their software on all mobile devices. :)

Is this only available in the premium version? I don't see an option for this in the standard version.

I have been using the S-Pen with EverNote, to make notes, since day one. As far as i can tell it has always been there.

Just hover the S-Pen over the field you want to write in, and bam, you've got a sheet to write on. what is MAJOR cool about it is that once you save the note, the handwriting is converted to Scrips-text. This has always been there, and is allowed in the subject / title, as well as the body of the note.

The latest update to EverNote now allows you to place a S-Pen note WITHIN an EverNote note. Perhaps this is what you guys are liking?:confused::confused:
That feature is alright with me, but as almost all my note taking is done with EverNote anyway, I wont be using it, as it is a *step *backwards for me.
Note that several other features were updated as well. Features that I find very useful. One of my Favorites is the camera function - take a picture and it automatically generates a Note!! :smokingsomb::smokingsomb::smokingsomb::smokingsomb:

I was referring to just going into Evernote and creating a new note. You can then use the S Pen to write what you want. In this case, it saves it in your handwriting vs putting it in typed form. I bring it up now because it said this was a new feature (whatever I was reading). I don't know what it could do before because before I had the Note, I never tried writing in a note. Just srtaight keyboard typing.

I can see why you don't like keyboard typing.

OK, i understand. I guess that EverNote calls their Notes "Notes" , as does the Notepad function of S-Pen , had me confused.

I plead dazed and confused :hmmmm::hmmmm::hmmmm:

I like it better than the the S note feature on my note 3 but still could use some improvement. Doesn't recognize commas, forward and backward slashes or underscore....

I suppose it's a work in progress but Evernote is one app that doesn't tread a lot of water. They're constantly trying to improve their product

Hey. No offence intended.

No worries. Oddly enough, I'm probably the only person I know who actually tries to type and text with correct spelling and grammar. If I notice something wrong, I can't let it be. I MUST go in and correct it. Apparently I'm a little OCD about that but hey, there are worse things to be. Obviously I missed that error though. :D

I've been a sub [sub-editor]. These things jump out at me and grab me by the throat.

HA! That's nothing compared to the CONTINUAL misuse of such words as their/there/they're and your/you're. Makes me want to scream. :(

The number one English error on the net as determined in a survey conducted by a panel consisting of me is to write "loose" for lose.

I actually don't see that one nearly as often as the other two. I must also say that I HATE the word "to/too". I don't ever recall that word being so confusing to me. But now that we have finished our english lesson for the day, let me say that it STILL does not excuse one former boss from actually marking up my memo to her (in red even) because of my sentence structure. She was a former english teacher but still.... sheesh!

I know exactly what you mean. The backspace is the most used key on my phone. ;)

I don't mind typos, or even bad grammar or structure - especially from people to whom English is a second or third language - as long as I understand what's meant. But when someone misuses to/too or their/there/they're, and the sentence makes no sense, I sometimes just ignore the post and skip to the next one. If you were born in the US, of English-speaking parents, you should be able to use your own language properly. I see it more with kids who think everything written is texting. (I'm glad I haven't taught in decades :::shudder:::)

But I do tend to notice every little error, not because I'm OCD (at least I don't think I am), but because I spent part of my life writing and editing. I even spot typos when I'm reading novels - and I'm immersed in the story, not paying attention to the text.

Back on topic, I used Evernote once or twice way back when. I might have to give it another try, now that I have a large screen, an S Pen and do need to take notes once in a while.
