new fresh rom....

To this date....this is the best ROM that's out there right now...EVERYTHING WORKS!

Wi-Fi works..

MMS works..

Wi-Fi Tether works..

Syncing works..

Battery life is super great..

There's NO LAG!

All Apps in Market show...

if you really think Damage's ROM is better than Flipz...YOU ARE WRONG!

I flashed it this morning and honestly...I'm sticking with Flipz Fresh 2.0d ROM ..

oh did I mention that Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5 works with this ROM as well?

if you still on 1.5 ....I suggest you hop on this one A.S.A.P.!
 
ok... I loaded the ROM again.. navigator finds me perfect.. so does where... it's just the weather apps that get lost.. I can deal with that..
 
I have always liked Flips version of ROMs since I started rooting. This ROM is no exception. Everything works great.
 
Go Flip Go!!! Ultimate test of time... having a rom on my phone longer than 24 hours... I just have to make it till 9am tomorrow morning and it will have passed the test... and guess what... I'm going to bed now ;0)

So for those of you who've been bouncing from rom to rom, check this one out... you won't be disappointed

fairly new to rooting, following the guide in the rooting tutorial to a T and rooted successfully with no issues or errors to fresh 1.1 installed gumbo etc. From what I understand in the tutorial, since I did it the manual way I have a nandroid backup, that it recommended I copy to my desktop, which i did. now what are the ideal steps to rooting to this rom. any explanation of how to root to my nandroid would be helpful if that is indeed a step, i can follow instructions well, just need to be told what steps exactly to take for this new rom, i appreciate the help
 
This ROM is perfect, greatest, bestest ( : )) except.....

To help out those with Eris-based flashes, this ROM replaces the PRI with a hack. Like all other PRI modifications, you cannot undo it without calling Sprint for a code.
 
yes can someone please give us a step by step on backing up our current fresh rom 1.5 to a nandroid and how to again step by step flashing the 2.0 fresh zip rom please
 
I load this ROM and it super fast compare to 1.5 :D. I was holding back on flash 2.1 until Sprint release, I'm happy I didn't ;). I tried DC2.05 and took a backup so I can play both.
Any one know how to see "Time Without Signal" under
Settings> About Phone> Battery> Battery Use> Cell Standby. I see Cell standby is 49%. I'm not sure if that what this post is referring to

ok.. first of all, lets get your terminology straightened out..rooting is only gaining access to modify the OS. that's it.. what you keep referring to as rooting it called Flashing. to Flash to Fresh 2.0d, copy the zip file to to root of the SD card just like you did with Fresh 1.1. power off and then power on the phone while holding the Home key. In the recovery menu make another Nandroid (it'll be more current and can take you back to exactly how your phone currently is configured). Once a backup has been done.. from the main recovery menu choose Wipe > Wipe data/factory reset. After the wipe is complete from the recovery menu choose flash from zip. select the fresh 2.0d zip file that you copied earlier. reboot the phone and enjoy 2.1

if you want to go back to Fresh 1.1.. reboot again while holding home. again wipe > wipe data/factory reset. then go into the backup/recovery menu and select restore. select the nandroid you want to restore (they have a date naming convention to let you know which is which). after the restore is complete, reboot the phone and you'll be back to the same condition as before flashing Fresh 2.0d

Make your you copy the zip files to SD root first.
1. Reboot phone to recovery mode.
2. Backup via Nandroid.
3. Reboot the phone or within recovery mode connect USB so you can copy the Nadroid backup in case you running to SD Card. (safe case)
4. If you reboot on step 3, reboot again to recovery mode. Select wipe data/factory.
5. Select Flash from zip and select the Fresh 2.0d and wait until installation completed.
6. If you have Android SDK install on your PC, connect to phone before reboot. Open a command under tool folder and type "adb logcat > logcat.log" without the quotation and don't press enter yet.
7. Once the rom is installed reboot the phone from recovery.
8. Now you can hit enter on the command prompt windows. This will log any issue during the boot to log file if you run into issue.
9. Wait at least 5 - 10 minutes for the rom to come up. After it come up follow the normal steps for setup. Also follow the steps from flipz over at xda
 
anyone having issues with making and receiving calls? occasionally when I try to make a call I lose the use of both the ear piece and the mic. my friends say they get the call but cannot hear anything. it has happened to me 6 times today and requires a reboot to fix but then it happens again at random times. has also happened with the newest DamageControl ROM.

no issues for me when I make or receive calls ...I been calling people and receiving calls all through out the morning since I flashed Fresh 2.0d ROM ..

I say try flashing it again..

been there done that, I've wiped then flashed 3 times today. I even redownloaded just to be sure.

Other people (on XDA) have reported phone problems. They seem to be few, but any problems with the basic phone function is a deal killer in my book, especially when they appear randomly. My guess that the fault is with the Sprint leak, and not any mods made by the hobbyists here. Still, it seems silly to play around with this leak if you actually depend on phone calls in your job.

  • If after flashing you end up with any data issues then first try rebooting. If that doesn't resolve it for you then try updating your profile and PRL. This is a side effect of the different PRI's and PRL's that people have ended up on. You may actually need to update your profile and PRL a couple times to get everything going but I promise it will. now everything works for me, but my PRL says 60662. should i try updating until i see 60663? if everything works good, and it says not roaming in my status...

Is this true? Sounds annoying. Anyone care to elaborate for me. I'm on the edge of flashing this but the above sounds scary!

Would a nandroid restore fix the above?

no a nandroid wouldnt you would have to get your msl from sprint...


i thought this one was sprint leak based not eris?
 
Defresh, I was waiting for you to chime in...going out of town until Thursday, so I won't be able to mess with this until I get back.

I always like your "reviews". its to the point and covers my concerns :)
 
my live wallpapers wont work ive tried to set them to home screen and chose one hit set wallpapaer but nothing happens any ideas what i am dooing wrong i just flashed to fresh rom2.0d help would be appreciated.

lwp wont work in sense you have to disable sense and use vanilla home to get live wallpapers to work
 
This Fresh Rom is my fav 2.1 rom by far! Battery life is great! Sync works. You can push Gallery which you couldn't in some of the other roms (I use Picasa vs. Flickr so its a big deal for me)... That was on Damageless 1.0 but could never get it to work on 2... Also, I found Damageless 1 to be faster for me than 2.0.5... Just wish I could get Friendstream to work...
