You have brought shame on this forum for your behavior, and thankfully a mod stepped in to delete the posts, as I find it very funny that you think I have some blanket power to remove posts from forums around the internet.

I will enjoy the rest of my day, and look forward to releasing fun and interesting things in the future that I do not doubt all of you will consume and enjoy, even while you complain. I even notice quite a few of you are using an X running froyo, how did that come to be?

Paying for an app to have access to a leak and roms is what we are talking about. Creating a cool rom manager app etc is a great idea but using the leak and roms stuff to get people to buy your manager is not so awesome. Especially when there are quite a few people out there that had issues with tranq and never got mention of a change log or anything. How long ago did this come out? And how many rom managers are we going to have to fork over scrilla for to get at a rom or leak? Post it up with a donate link. If it is truly sweet then the donations usually follow. Don't play games with us. I donated to clockwork because I liked it. I will continue to donate to those that earn my appreciation. You do that with COMMUNICATING what you are selling and how it differs from everyone else. Not smoke and mirrors like this stunt.

I hate putting things out like this. I think you, bird and the others working away are doing a great job. My main beef was about how this latest leak/rom/rom manager was packaged.
 
I'm glad its free now, and it should have been free all along. You want to make an app and require people to pay you in order to have a quick easy way to apply it? Thats fine. what i have a problem with is having a leak, and having that PAID app the ONLY means to get that leak is just wrong in my opinion. And to have the mods come thru here with a broadsword and clear all the links is equally wrong. Again, you want to have a rom manager out there and make people pay for it? Go nuts! but to hold a leak back from the community and make that paid app the only way to get it is just shady shady business.

it just dawned on me that he did release 2.3.9.

apologies to p3droid for the past remarks. you did a bang up job with 2.3.9.

my issue of contention was making users to pay for 2.3.15, a 'leaked' build which is owned by Motorola. That was my issue.

it should have been free in the first place, with a donate option.

ties to you. Why must you devs be so arrogant. Yes your are smart. Yes you can do things that most android users can't. But you could do with a dose of humility if you truly are doing this for the "community".

The paid aspect is ballsy for sure, I would be worried that real legal action would ensure from moto. It's one thing to make copyrighted content available for download, it's another to charge for the content.

I appreciate the efforts and would hate to see the goodies stop trickling out.
 
No one has said it yet so I guess I will... but I noticed that the build number for this, the 2.3.15, appears to be the same as the announced OTA update coming soon... so is this leaked version the same as the OTA thats coming?
 
I'd STILL like to see a current thread with exact correct instructions on how to go from 2.1 update 1 to the latest deodexed bloat free rooted build.

I did the first update and rolled back, but that was unrooted, with bloat, and odexed.
 
The Droid 2 has the official 2.2. That is where this method came from.

I guess there is always the possibility that Moto will patch that exploit as well.
 
The only issue I had with 2.3.15 was the loss of PC Mode. The driver would simply fail every time I tried to load it. That is the reason I went back to 2.3.9. I am really hoping the final release work for PC Mode (Windows 7).

Yeah I know that no one knows yet. That's what I was trying to say but PointGuard assumed I was talking about the leaks.

+1 He lost some credibility for sure but I'm not writing him off as a fraud just yet. Lets see what the Big Something is this friday.
