one downside, they got rid of the Labs feature to show a Call and Navigate to button whenever you search for a business :(

Downloaded it on my backflip, it says it's version 5.0, but I'm not seeing any new features. I didn't except Multi-touch gesture support, and I was hopeful for 3D but none of that either. But I expected to at least get Vector graphics and offline support, but I didn't get either of those, it's like they didn't even update it.

hit menu, then goto more. Do you see the Cache settings options? If not, it may not have updated. You will generally only see 3D buildings in LARGE, populated cities. Try Boston, MA and zoom in

Here are mirrors for the apk (from Hollow.Droid on XDA)

Simply amazing! I've been waiting for this, particularly the map caching. Its always been a pain not being able to use gmaps when I don't have a signal. Can't wait to try it out. And yeah the 3D is pimp. To bad my city is to small and hasn't been skinned yet.

Map caching, about damn time. never buying a standalone GPS again.

for me it doesn't show up, even with the qr code it says not available

did anyone downloaded the above link? can I trust it?
I tried to look for this user or post on xda but couldn't find nothing

This was one of the best features of Google maps and now it's gone.

Agreed. I could never understand why this wasn't the default behaviour, and having removed it entirely makes even less sense. What could the thinking there possibly have been??

Still there for me. Search for the business, tap on the location and it brings up a menu with reviews, phone, navigate, etc.
