New guy... need help.

Thanks Self for writing the one stop shop for roms and kernels first.

However I find all of this to be kind of unorganized and very confusing.

I have followed the root instructions verbatim and have achieved root.

I wanted pacman on my phone, so I dl'd and odined el26, then installed pacman and gapps and I just hang on boot screen.

I don't know if the rom came with the respective kernel needed, and all the kernels are labeled as touchwiz etc. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here.

I would appreciate the help.

Hey there stranger, long time no see dude lol, ok do you have recovery installed, if you do, all you need to do is install the zip in recovery, its a ASOP rom so it shouldnt be a problem..... wipe dalvik cache and reboot, if you dont have recovery, i would get the GC01 installed and then moblie odin the recovery and then install pac after you have the recovery installed
 
Did u wipe the **DATA** and both caches b4 flashing pacman? If not theres your problem. Boot into recovery and wipe data and caches then flash rom and gapps then reboot. Your also gonna need an ics modem to flash to get data on pacman. El doesn't do modems so flash it after first pacman boot then youll have data. Pacman is a great rom. Have fun
 
I put fl24 as recommended. Unrelated... I'm having mms issues and the fix in one stop doesn't do anything for me?
 
This doesn't fix it for me. I like this Rom but Im about to try something else as I can't get mms working... Frustrated :(
 
Edit doc is the man. Just flashed this and then Odin fl24 reboot sending and receiving messages. Stoked!

New phone turns a person into a noob all over again. This is my first non gb phone. Even though it's outdated I'm pretty sure it's more powerful than my computer lol.

Man I used to be on top of my computers and electronic gadget game. I've turned into a luddite smh

Yea I no what you mean, starting over is always fun but that's what were here for, great group of peeps here just like in the warp threads.......;)
