New HTC Widgets!

Before people say these don't work...remember, you don't open the application! You add the widgets to your homescreen.

I installed the battery widget and noticed my battery level dropped off big time. So I restarted my phone and let the phone sit for about 45 minutes. I then checked the awake time and noticed the awake time was at 100%. I never had an awake time issue before this, so this is interesting.

Anyone else notice this?

Battery Widget is the only one I have installed and I have no awake time issues. Restart again and this time make sure any widgets fully load (Pure Calendar is bad with this unless you make sure you have the fix checked) other wise they keep the phone awake while they sit there in an eternal loading state.

Just turned off my phone and back on. My awake time went back down. That was weird.

I tried the battery widget, its ok. Battery Life is better because it show the temp, voltage and the % of battery left all on the widget. Oh, and you can change the temp from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but HTC have released some new widgets for the Hero and Droid Eris - just search for "quietly brilliant" in the market.

So right after they throw a cease & desist at Beautiful Widgets they go and launch their own in the Android Market.

Battery widget is real cool, useful for those having battery issues or for general gawking and amusement! Probably a little tease of some of the items to come with 2.1, lol... I put it on my mail screen, for now.

Some are complaining in the market because of the limited release by HTC targeting just the Hero & Eris, lol... and in my mind it is HTC planting it's flag to retain marketing territory over widgets for it's SENSE UI, but it's all good because we benefit, lol. Ya' gotta love it! ;)

Regards!

the today in history widget is a good idea which i like, but its an ugly looking thing and contains far too many results IMO.

Downloaded and tried out the Battery Widget. I prefer Battery Widget by mippin.com, mainly because when you click the battery it brings up your status (on/off) for wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Much handier, as there's no need for those other widgets to toggle those settings.

Way, way too many results. One to three per day might be interesting, or one per category with a link to see more. But dozens each day? That's just a bit... sad? Anal? Overkill?

Totally agree. I once deleted Battery Life and installed Battery Widget, but then found out Battery Life is much better design so I reinstall it back:o
