Root New LCARS boot animation

No? Im using a Droid 2 bootanimation and all I did was change those.

Here try this. I came across this last night. Its a boot animation maker. Havent used it tho

ERRR DONT USE THAT. My internet security doesnt like it. Sorry

Im, new to the boards. I was trying to look for a LCARS boot screen for my Droid Incredible. What im wondering is, will this work on the incredible and how do you actually install it?

Double click the original zip file, inside will be a desc "notepad" file. copy it and open up the note pad on your computer and paste it and change320 480 to 480 845 then save it as "desc" and then drag it and drop it on the zip and it will replace the original

Yeah its not this simple.. I wish it were.

Masterchief.

This is truly a piece of art. I only have 1 thing I have to complain about...

It's too small for my Droid x!! :(

What are the chances of getting a version that is 480 x 854?

I tried to resize it myself, but now I just get the black screen while it is supposed to run. Or is there something I can do that I missed when recreating the zip file with the resized images?

I beg of your help Masterchief. Pwease?

I have a 480 x 800 I made for the evo with an updated sound but I will have to resize it for the X which will take some time. Does the x boot faster than the ascend or is it about the same time? The evo has less frames in its zip since it doesn't take as long to boot. PM me so I can get back to you sooner.

you will need a different file since your pixel size it 480 x 800. Since you are asking how to install, first is your phone rooted? Secondly, if you are rooted what rom are you using. Some roms allow you to just plug files in and play them at next boot, while others require you to do a little extra work.

Chief, I got your LCAR's. It's gorgeous to watch but 2 things...

1: I need a For Dummies type walkthrough for the sound install. (rooted, PG build cm7)

2: I got choice 1, the combined run. So I still get the stock splash screen and the cm7 Tron Droid boot before the LCARS kicks in.
If I go get the seperate files how do I get the UFP onto the splash only?

Thanks

Easily done. Put it on the root of your sd and with your file manager rename it too bootanimation then move it to system>media and paste it over the current bootanimation.zip then take that audio mp3 file and put it on your sd rename it to android_audio and move it to system>media>audio>ui and paste it over the current android_audio then reboot and enjoy your new boot animation.

And you can change that Tron screen, but I cant help you there. AhahaAsk tokenpoke or I think Gmash or Nuttmeg know.

yup what he said :) ^^ also if you notice in the vids i left my splash screens alone. just the bootanimation was changed.

Thanks guys. I had already gotten that far. I have the LCARS loaded. I was looking to replace the slash with the UFP logo.

And You just told me where the audio file and which one I needed to replace was so thanks for that.

Actually Before I go on I want to clarify something.

In my SD card is the bootsound zip (with the icon of the file cabinet in a vice)
Inside there is the mp3 (with the green speaker icon along with the file folders for the mp3's behavior.

In system>media>ui>auido there are all green speaker mp3 files.

If I paste just the mp3 itself will it know how to act without it's other parts or do I paste the whole zip file at ui and not in the audio file?

I realize this thrread has been inactive for a while but I am trying to install this on my Huawei m860 but am NOT technically savvy. Can someone help me with a step by step? Did you download this on your phone or pc? Secondly and more importantly, is your phone rooted, and if so do you have access to your files via a file manager?

First I have to same great job on the boot animation but I was having some problems getting it to work I have half the animation that starts up but it cuts to my unlock screen half way through and second I still cannot get any sound I have tried just about everything everyone has posted but still no luck. My phone is a Huawei U8652 and its running GingerBread 2.3.4 so any help someone could give me would be great! Thanks!

Use the search feature here in the ASCEND FORUM & type in "CM7 Boot Sound".There you will find the steps necessary to get the sound to work.

Still no luck I searched and checked everything I could find I tried changing to audio from a mp3 to a OGG and still nothing so if you could help anymore I would really appreciate it, also any idea on how to keep it from cutting off before it is finish?

Did you try the newbootsound.zip, which is in the Original Post on this thread?

I haven't yet myself, since its been a while since I last used my ASCEND,but,I'll try it out as well & see if it cured the cut-off problem.

Keep us posted on your results/progress,as I will w/mine,for I have the same problem as you & others w/the sound cut-off.

Will try it out as soon as I get home today.

I tried out the newbootsound.zip & it works fairly well on the ASCEND.It fades a little bit @ the end, but, you can still hear it all.

Just download the newbootsound.zip to your SD Card, extract the files using ROOT EXPLORER or any other comparable file exploring app.

Follow the directions included in the zip EXCEPT for the build.prop file.DO NOT use this,it's not necessary & if you read it,it shows that it's not for the ASCEND.I found this out after I copied & pasted, rebooted.
The boot animation & sound worked flawlessly, however,I had a blank screen staring @ me after boot. So,I re-flashed the CM7 ROM & started over, omitting the build.prop file this time & it worked as designed.

Just copy & paste the other three files in the proper location & you should be OK.

Gahhhhh Still nothing I think I need to just re flash it and start all over from the start, but I'm not sure how to do that either, I'm not to tech smart the last smart phone I had was the Q lol so that shows how far behind I am. Also if I reflash it will I lose everything and have to re-root and everything again? Or am I just missing it all togher and need to install CM7?

Unless you're not able to use your phone at all,it's not necessary to re-install CM7

Just copy & paste the files (except build.prop) in the locations stated in the .zip files & you should be okay.

Another alternative method for the sound only is to copy the android_audio_.mp3 file & paste it in the system/media/audio/ui folder directly over the existing android_audio_.mp3 file.

Try it out & keep us posted on your progress/results.

BTW,is the Boot Animation (LCARS) working at all,or,do you still have the original CM7 Boot Animation?

Yeah the boot animation is working it still cuts off half way through but at least it works just no sound, I went in and done a factory reset to see if that would work but still the same, one thing though I dont remember the factory boot having sound on it when it started up to begin with

Most, if not all,(except for the MOTO DROID line, perhaps)factory boot animations do not have sound,AFAIK.
It's just something cool that's been added on by the developers in their custom ROMS.

Did you try placing the android_audio_.mp3 file from the newanimation.zip download in system/media/audio/ui & pasting it over the existing android_audio_. mp3?
