anybody else install the new market today? i got it in irc, but its been floating around other places as well....personally its kinda neat looking but, im not particularly fond of the new interface so far

i guess ill get used to it :cool:

(and no this isnt the 2.2 market update that many got yesterday)
 
Wow, one of the key changes is pretty drastic. You can no longer try an app for 24 hours and still get a refund, now the window is down to 15 minutes. I don't know how you can "test drive" an app in 15 minutes.

said random guy is RickS just to give him his fair due. No one believed him at first and he was getting hella fire, till he posted screenies. Then adryn extended apologizes for not believing him and RickS emailed adryn the apk and adryn made a cwm zip for everyone and the rest is history.

Yeah 15 minutes seems way WAY to short to test drive an app

Ah rickS I seem to recall that's his sn.now.....I guess he is not usually on during the day as I don't recall having seen him before. :cool:

Either way it was a good find

I really am surprised about the 15min refund. Seems like Google is going the way of apple. This is the first step. LOL Oh well I will try demos of the apps then if I like them I will purchase them.
 
I wouldn't be surprised to see this almost immediately revised by google...the app devs i follow on twitter were seemingly all really upset by this as they felt no one would want to take chances on their products

I think 12 hours is a fair compromise

Deal breaker for me, unless there are a lot of good remarks/reviews in the app's "comments" area, no purchase from this puppy.

Fifteen minutes? Terrible.

yeah while I dont like the 15 minute policy I do like the side scrolling icons for searching thru stuff
 
Tried installing new market on my fascinate and keep getting parse errors. Need help. Works fine on my X, but will see how it runs on my eris later.

edit - Does not work either on my rooted 2.1 eris.
 
I have so few apps installed these days I have not yet had more than one update at a time so far so now update all for me yet. But I wanna see how much quicker it is I heard it was more efficient. Although the previous version was quick itself
 
I always felt installing apps or updating them on the Fascinate was super slow, on my Droid X they were always downloaded extremely fast. Granted I rooted and had that exactly how I liked it and I never had my Fascinated rooted until last night.

I rooted and installed a rom yesterday, have the new market place now and man it seems a lot quicker. I'm not sure if it is because of the new marketplace or just because I finally messed with my phone, but it is definitely a lot better.
 
not sure the new 15 minute return policy is true, i have the new market installed and just bought an app... at the bottom it still says I can return within 24 hours for a full refund
