New Motion/ICS user

Ok, I just bought this yesterday. So far, I'm loving it. I ran into a little snag last night while trying to set my phone to bedside mode. I came from the LG Optimus M+, and I could put a clock on the home screen. I could just tap the clock and it would open the alarms. From there I could select the bedside mode. For some reason when I tap the clock on my home screen, the alarms don't open. :confused: Is there something I'm missing here?

The OM+ was GB right? Yeah, that was a feature lost in the transition to ICS :( I miss that too...

Congrats you made a good choice! Glad you are loving it like I am :) The battery life is awesome!!

I had it on battery for 13+ hours today, my first full day with it. I don't know what others are getting, and I'm sure i will be able to tweek it after I've had it for a while. I do like it a lot. I had been anticipating greeting the Spirit, but due to a little less on the income refund, and some other pressing needs (like a new sliding glass door for my house) I went with the Motion. I know i won't be disappointed though.

Edit: by the way, when i had my Optimus M+, I could only get 4 or 5 hours battery life.
 
Here are some more thoughts: I love how Google Play Music will read the music I have on my external SD card. I have a 32 Gig card and so have music on it 'cause my OM+ only had about 2Gig of internal memory. The OM+ wouldn't read music from the SD card though, so I always had to stream. Fortunately we had decent 3G here in the Dallas area so I could do that. Well, no sooner did I pop my SD card into the Motion, turn it on, and I checked Play Music and selected on device music. Sure enough, there was my music. I'm really happy about that. I was using Amazon MP3 to play my music from the external SD, but now I have even more options. I like options. :)

I'm also loving the stock backup app. On my OM+ (and OM before that) I was rooted and so used Titanium Backup and I also used CWM to make backups. I understand, and know that root and CWM is available for the Motion, but I haven't rooted yet. Really, I'm not even sure if I will at this moment. I'm quite content and happy playing with the phone as stock right now. Maybe down the road. We'll see.

Only things I've done with root:
Install recovery and make a backup
Adaway
Remove MetroPCS easy wifi and a few other apps from metro asking for updates
Install Google Now

I'm also making backups with the backup app everyday at 2AM :D I love that it has a schedule :D

Yeah, I set up a schedule as well. I'm going to back up once a month at 2am (while I'm sleeping).
