thx guys for the help/info.

I don't even have any contacts put in yet so don't have to worry there. So that's good.

But, before I use Ti Backup it looks like it says I need to Root my phone before I use Ti Backup, correct?

Is there any significant difference between Ti Backup Free version and the Ti Backup Pro version on the marketplace?

Correct.

There are some definite differences, but if you only want to back up some apps, and put them on a new ROM it isn't that different. I think you have to approve it for every app (when restoring) with the free version and that you don't have to do that with the paid version. Although, I might be mistaken about that, as I have the paid version and can't remember exactly how much it differs.

Correct.

Also you can freeze some services with the paid version, can't w/free one.

I have to say that. as a new MT owner, coming from a Samsung Intercept, I don't fine the stock ROM particularly repugnant.

I have rooted the phone and suppose one day, when I've mastered backing up and restoring the ROM, I'll have to try CM7. But I gotta say I'm in no big rush

LOL, yeah, I know...it starts to get really blurry after awhile of reading about each ROM.

I didn't see where wi-fi doesn't work with CM7. How do u mean? I doubt it would be so popular if wi-fi connection didn't work. That's one main way I plan to use the phone.

I meant to say yes Wi-fi works as per 0.8 version for CM7 but the phone go mad if you turn on both bluetooth and wi-fi.In my case I would be on wi-fi most of the time but also I have just ordered an MBW-150 which supposed to be connected all the time with triumph through bluetooth using Openwatch.SO you see the watch would be of no use for me if I can't run wifi+bluetooth at once.Anyway for the time being I'm planning not to use the watch while I'm at home ro where I will be using Wi-fi..and on the road or while driving I would rather use 3g along with MBW.
