Still no issues with battery, my phone is running off of 2.1 so maybe thats why.

is it possible that this is only hitting phones that did not upgrade the baseband? not sure if verizon could do an accurate ping to check the radio version but i have been running nextbeast v1 with the updated baseband and i have not been notified about an update nor have i experienced bad battery life.

hmm.. that sounds reasonable.. I too am running the latest baseband with no notification of updates and my battery life is the same as when running NexTheme R3 from Fab (running NexBeast V4)
 
I did not upgrade my baseband (because I heard it causes problems) and my battery life has been terrible. I am using SPR, but have not had any requests to update. Is there any way to know if the update is being constantly downloaded and to stop it?

you will see your 3g constantly connected.
