New Packaging/Box!

What's even funnier is I went into Verizon last week, saw a leather pouch in a Verizon packaged case (the white with the red lettering) that was labeled "universal" but fit the Incredible perfectly. Went in 2 days ago, the same exact pouch is now in the new Incredible gray packaging that is identical to the new box!!

As long as it works and is BRAND NEW, who cares what color the box is....Which i'm sure the thousands of people who paid for it and are forced to wait 2 months for it are saying...

I ordered mine on 5/21 and received it on 6/8 and I got the old box.... so when was the switch suppose to be in effect?

It's confusing. I know Verizon is trying to unify their Android lineup by prefacing all the android phones with "Droid" but that doesn't work when there's a phone that's called just the Droid.

Plus, "HTC Droid Incredible" is too much of a mouthful. I tell people i'm getting an Incredible. A seven syllable device name is too much. HTC incredible is pushing it, mostly becuase HTC is hard to say fast without slurring all the letters together haha

Question for all you white box Incredible owners... I am a black box owner.

What is your firmware version?? My Incredible says 2.1-update 1

Agreed, my phone is the HTC Incredible with Google... however, at any rate.... the new name, if accepted by the masses, would be the Droid Incredible by HTC :) lol

Long live the HTC Incredible!

I refuse to call mine the "Droid Incredible" it just sounds ridiculous.

How about The Incredible Droid? :p

Alone, I like the white box.. but the fact that so many other of Verizon's phones come in boxes just like it makes the new box stand out more and definitely makes the consumer "feel" like they got something different than your bog-standard VZW handset.

I don't mean to bump this thread from too far back, but I just got my phone today and got it in the newly designed dark gray box. Does that necessarily mean anything like that I got an LCD screen rather than the AMOLED screen, or did they just change the packaging?

Considering my box went straight into the trash this is a waste of re-branding and packaging costs IMO.
