New phone losing data/sms connection after 15hrs, restart fixes it

picked up a new LG f6 from metro. Phone works great except after 12+ hrs it loses its data connection and I cant send or receive texts, and the lock screen that normally says "MetroPCS" says something like "Service"

as soon as I restart the phone the data connection comes right back up and everything works great.

can anyone save me a trip to the metro store, maybe there are some settings I can change to fix this

Thanks

The only "setting" is that the phone is defective, so take that trip. It sounds like a bubble in the wave soldering of the motherboard, causing a really slow heating problem. Easily repairable if you know exactly which joint is bad, and you're willing to void the warranty, but LG will probably just scrap the motherboard and replace it. There's really no "setting" that can fix a hardware problem. (It's not really their fault that the phone got through either. They may burn them in for 24 hours, but by the time they test them after burn-in, they've been turned off long enough to cool down. Sometimes a problem will only show up under real-world usage.)

You think metro is going to fight me when i try to exchange the phone? I just fear there are going to want to just tweak setting and tell me "here see if that works"

It just happened again. This time i tried making a call and even though i had 5bar it wouldn't work

I went into settings and did a network search and it gave me an error related to the sim card

Could a bad sim card cause the problem?
