Root New Purchase!!!!

This is a good conversation guys and it is nice to see so many people willing to help but this is turning into a "root thread" so I am moving it to the all things root section.

;)

I'm on CM7 too and reboot after downloading the nightly (been quiet for 2 days now btw..no nightly) in the early morning. If my wife heard that boot audio at 5 AM she would .. I can't even imagine or if I did it would not be printable. But it's cool looking for sure.
The DI is probably the best phone out there right now and shows no signs of letting up. The TB is not released yet and will take some months to shake out the roms and bugs. I own 3 Incredibles and everyone loves the performance. Congrats dude on a great purchase. Have fun.

Is there any roms that don't update everyday and are still very good??? I'd much rather have a stable rom that has been tweaked to perfection almost, and doesn't need updated every day. What would you guys recommend?

if you like sense, and dont mind 2.2 id try incredibly rengineered. its super fast and responsive, its actually the ONLY sense rom ive ever used for more than a day or 2,and the only one id ever go back to-i liked it alot.

and welcome from another inc newbie :) im also new, having just picked up a used incredible. however,i have been rooting for awhile-started on the eris, and then a droid 1.

i personally am also using the CM7 nightlies. they are incredibly stable and very smooth at this point,i wouldnt hesitate to try the newest build (#11) and see what you think. after all,you can go right back to where you were if you dont like it... thats the beauty of nand backups :D

if you want to get taste of what CM roms are like without nightly updates, there is a stable, polished CM6 available thay you could try(cm6=2.2 froyo,cm7=2.3 gingerbread)

last and not least,IMO you should not use rom manager to flash and manage roms. its only real function,I think, should be to flash the recovery if you need to cahnge from RA_GNM to clockwork or vice versa.

again this is just my opinion, but from my reading the folks using rom manager and downloading roms right to their phones are having more trouble than those of us using recovery. for the least amount of potential issue, download roms to your computer, transfer them to your phone via usb,and flash/wipe/make backups all in recovery(tho not in that order :p ;) )

my 2 cents,for what theyre worth :)

The Cyanogen mod rom(CM7) is really the only rom that has nightly updates.

Warm Z had them, but I'm not sure if you can still access them as he is on RLS1 now.

My favorite rom is Incredibly Re-Engineered. Chingy did a great job with it. I'll probably stick with that until he stops supporting it lol.
I was on Myn's warm two point two, RLS5, was stable on RLS4 but RLS5 and up has been a complete roller coaster in terms of problems and too slow compared to Re-Engineered.

Skyraider 3.5, Don't really like the rom at all butt it is fantastic(just personal preference) If you wana stay more stock looking i'd check that out. Lota people love it.

CM6 like above said is another Daily usable rom, it's a final build, and CM7 is now being worked on. Lota others, check out XDA developers if you haven't already. Use that for getting all your mods, roms, etccc.
