Root New Rom

I need help on decided what rom i should use. Anyone want to help me decide on which one i should use and explain the differences between the roms?

This is my opinion.

There are 2 elite ROMS, as in the best (again my opinion)
These would be:
APEX 1.3.1
Liberty 1.0

Apex is a ROM that has the perfect amount of blur. It is fast, non-buggy, and great. There are plenty of themes for it and the developer, fabolous, is awesome. The battery life is excellent.

Liberty is a ROM that has next to 0 blur. It comes with an app that allows you to change a lot of things + add blur. It is a little bit more technical. It is blazing fast, but so is Apex. The battery life is good.

They both are great. For a newbie, I'd go with Apex. For an advanced android user, go with liberty.

I was leaning towards Apex but the Blackslide looks pretty neat but idk anything about that one thou
I am a huge fan of apex and darkslide ......no other rom comes close imo ....darkslide is similar to apex .....very smooth stable and no problems ....im on ds now and honestly have not had a single issue ...highly recommend

im pretty new to this stuff since this is the first time ive ever rooted and used roms.

Apex 1.3.1 is pretty good. it was sooo much faster than stock. it does have the perfect amount of blur. its a great one to start out with and learn on. good themes too. very easy to set up things. safer since you dont have as much access to things. but still be careful.

Liberty 1.0 is pretty cool. it has sooo many customizeable things that Apex doesnt. it has Liberty Tool Box which is where you do most of your customizing. good themes. i had only one issue with it, not being able to set up hotmail. i use hotmail daily so not being able to have that is a big issue for me. im still trying to mess with it to get it to work. but Liberty 1.5 is suppposed to be coming out any day and its supposed to have fixes for a few things. this isnt as safe as Apex since it gives you access to more things so be careful and ask questions.

Darkslide 4.2 wasnt my cup of tea. yes it was fast but it doesnt have any other themes. its has cool looking widgets and icons though. the battery meter was ugly, it was a rev meter. the stock Darkslide keyboard is hard to read with the graphics on it. i do like the dark theme it has. you can also dark theme the Marketplace which i liked. but i had problems with hotmail on Darkslide as well. so not one im going to use again.

those are the only ones i have used so far. im looking forward to Liberty 1.5 now!

I would go with darkslide as well. I have gone thru just about every ROM at least once (if not more than once) in the past few weeks and out of every one Darkslide has been easily the most stable of the bunch. I have had not a single hiccup with Darkslide. You can get it with Blur or Blurless but if this is your first ROM I would start with the Blured version. It is fast and smooth as well. Also the devs of Darkslide are very good at supporting their ROM which is good for new people to ROMs. The only reason I can think of not to go with Darkslide is if you don't like the look. My second choice for a first ROM would be Apex. Its fast and smooth as well and pretty stable too but I did get some force closes and randoom reboots on it.

In addition to Darkslide I would also use ADW EX for your launcher. They seem to work in perfect harmony together.

if you all notice, everyone says apex minus frag
so i think you should test out apex first and see how things go for you

right now, as much as I like apex and liberty, I'm having a hard time loading any rom here recently. I like the stock look and I like most of the stock apps and widgets. So i used the maderstock.zip floating around to go back to stock, rerooted and deleted what I don't like or use. Overclocked, applied beasley's build props, and set autokiller to ultimate. I'm getting 1700 to 1800 consistently with quadrant. So I'm happy for now. Until Liberty 1.5 or apex come out with an update, I will be staying stock for the foreseeable future.
