hey i currently have the Velocity 1.0 rom.... but are there any other roms out there for the ally besides raptor that are worth trying?

No raptor is for 2.1 only. There is A Froyo ROM, Byron and Byron Bare and of course Velocity 1 for 2.2.
may be others somewhere else.

We have few ROMs right now but that's partially due to the fact that most guys teamed up to give us the best possible experience by working together on Velocity.

has anybody heard anything about the frunisher rom? i am not sure if it was ditched or if theres a complication or what its been a while.
