multiple people on the eris have, AFAIK its untested on the DINC, but i dont see why it wont work
give it a shot and let us know...worst that can happen is that you just dont get root lol

i just did this for someone on the eris via team viewer and it worked fine. its WELL tested. if someone wants me to do it for their INC pm me and ill show you how to setup teamviewer and ill do it.

I was told by Verizon I was getting my INC today, but It will be shipped 8/2 otherwise I'd do it. :-/

I have a question for you regarding the Eris side of this. I want to root my girlfriend's Eris, so I can overclock it and run a custom ROM. She loves the phone, but it's slow as dog shit, and I told her I might be able to fix that for her.

Here's the problem. I installed the first leaked 2.1 OTA, so my question is, is this method working for leakers or just everyone else?

Oh snap!!

Thanks for this good sir. My girlfriend will be psyched even though she has no idea what I'm talking about. All she hears is "blah blah blah over clock blah blah blah ROM blah blah blah blah blah your phone will be much faster!"

I'm getting this...

$ adb push rom.zip /sdcard
adb push rom.zip /sdcard
adb: permission denied

How can I get past this?

for te people who want me to do this, first make sure that you have the sdk already installed and working.

im already rooting another eris right now, but pm me, ill give you my email and ill work my way down the list :P

so this has been tested on the incredible and shown not to work or is it merely a thought that this will not work on the INC?
