Root New Sensation & ROM

I'm considering buying a T-Mobile Sensation 4G, brand new he says, for $300. It is running InsertCoin 4.5.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 ROM. Is that a good ROM and to install a different one do I just wipe cache's and data similar to what I would do on my Optimus V?

i havent used it,so i cant comment on that. more info with a couple screenies here:
[ROM][FEB.15]InsertCoin 4.5.4 Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 AROMA APM EQS FAST STABLE EPIC - xda-developers

the dev has valid fustrations, but comes across as a bit of a jackass in the "things you need to know"

i would definately give it a shot. it appears new "firmware"(radios, hboot) had to be flashed in order to run this rom. being new to sensation myself,im not 100% sure that the newer firmware will be compatible with older roms. ive seen references suggesting old roms work fine with new fimrware,so hopefully thats the case.

if the sensation was rooted with revolutionary and is s-off,and new firmware is compatible with old roms then,YES! all youll need to do to change it is go to recovery, make a backup, wipe, and flash a new rom like you are used to on ohter rooted devices.

if old firmware is needed and/or the device was rooted with htcdev unlock it will be a lil more complicated and we can help you cross that bridge when you come to it. :)

first thing id do when you get it is check the status of hboot. see if its s-off or "unlocked and s-on"
