Over at Alldroid of course.hey can someone explain how to use the update.zip to me please? ive only ever flashed with nandroid. thanks
First of all let me say that REDFLEA pm'd me and was working on getting BirdMans V4 to me to upload. Everybody should be thanking him and he gets mad props for helping others
On another note I was lucky enough to chat with Birdman himself who subsequently gave me the link to his V4 as well as his permission to share, so everybody be sure to thank him as wellOver at Alldroid of course.

DAMN YOU GrandMaster.

Ok my recovery verison just wasnt new enough because I had just returned to stock from a previous endevor. Using SirSpychoS 0.99.2b recovery select Install then Install/sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)
I have sirPsycho 14.0, so it won't work for me?
How do I install SirPsycho 0.99?
and can you tell me a bit more about V4?
I got the memory leak issue with the 1.1 ROM also, but this time I decided to give it another chance.
I used Sholes' stock 2.0.1 nandroid image and restored that. Then I installed 1.1 over it, wiping DATA just to be doubly sure. I choose not to install the brightness hack or app, or open vpn, or the 2.1 launcher.
I redownloaded my apps, got my homescreens and widgets set up identical to my previous setup (which I choose to preserve the data and install 1.1 over). So far, I have yet to run into the memory issue.
I'm fairly confident it will stay this way too, because I could always slow the 1.1 ROM down to a crawl by leaving the browser open. I've now had it running for 5 hours, along with the usual other apps, and have yet to experience the slowdown.
I think the reason lots of people are having very different experiences with this ROM (evident in the threads at alldroid) is this factor.
Not saying you guys should wipe and reload the ROM, because birdman's v4 is just fine and it's a lot easier to install over and keep all your data, but I just wanted to see what would happen.
Anyways, I'll report back if things go south, but it's looking good for now.

I always wipe data and cache partitions before flashing a rom and I pass on installing several items like the tethering, news weather widget, 2.1 launcher or openvpn. I just read over at Alldroid that killing the browser fixes it temporarily(berserker himself) or better yet disabling the compcache fixes it. I cannot do either of these as I am not running the rom anymore. All I know is it took very little use on my end to drop below 20MB and the lag becomes very apparent.
I would be very much interested in seeing your results Fabolous...
Not to get off the subject this Birdman rom is pretty good. Just some lag with typing.
