Has anyone update yet to the 3.0 ... mine is still 2.8.50.12867
just wondering the pros and cons of the new version...

I do not think you can update, as the update is for versions not bundled with the handset. I personally don't use it, but this was mentioned in one or two other threads.

BTW, Swype v3.0 is a BETA release.

If you are rooted there are ways around this

Mine says 3.6.84.26668. Just got it a few days ago, but you do have to be rooted. I had to reinstall swype after flashing a new rom.

I'm really liking this update. The line you swype with looks a lot better and is transparent, and you can easily switch to typing since it has predictions.

The biggest plus to the new Swype3.0 beta is the word window that always popped up in the way has been changed to the more standard word bar that most keyboards now use.
