Help new to android - question about internet

hi everyone, i'm brand new to android after 2 years of an iPhone. :) many things about android i like better but a few things i'm either just not used to or i could do in like one less click with the iPhone.

anyway, question...when i click the web, and use the internet, i go to a page. i could open other pages too. then i go back home (don't close the web pages) and do other stuff. in a bit, i press the web button again and i go back to the page i was on, it's still there. however, it seems that sometimes, after more time has passed, when i click back into the web, it resets back and i go back to my home page and all the other multiple pages that were open are now closed. is there some kind of timeout that happens where whatever web pages were open all close and i go back to the homepage?
thanks!

I've had my android since November (came from an iPhone 3GS too), and I was very used to having web pages stay exactly as I left them. I have noticed the same thing on android as well. You do have to be careful, as if you end the web process on the phone, it will close the "program" and you will lose where you were on whatever web page you were on. Wish I knew if it was something I'm doing, or as you mentioned, some sort of timeout...

Well I am running one of those battery saving apps, juice defender. Maybe that is part of the problem?

one other thing I liked about the iPhone that maybe they will do when ice cream sandwich comes out for skyrocket is less clicks to do things. For instance the Facebook style pull down swipe to update Facebook, I wish the email program has that. I find that some thINS I could to in one click or motion before now takes two. Like refreshing a Web page.

They will make a difference.

When exiting your browser session hit home, not back.

Its funny...most users are actually annoyed if the web pages are not cleared...you guys want the opposite

I'm pretty sure I use the Home key to get out and leave the web application running.

Its nice to sometimes have a couple of web pages pulled up, and then just refresh, instead of having to pull up the bookmark first. But thats just me. Though I do often close down the application entirely to save RAM (though I don't expect it to remember where I was when I do this!).

There's different browsers you could use. Dolphin for instance has the refresh button on the page. You don't have to open the menu.
