Root new to rooting

yea i feel completly stupid now lol but i figured it out guys thanks to all for all your help i am going through the update now

ok guys so ive come to a new problem. i flashed to and ics rom and hate it. now i am wanting to flash my phone over to mikg rom how do i go about that?

No worries, download the MikGv3.11 full wipe version (if you want v3.11) and put on sd card like you did the last rom.
Boot into recovery, wipe all except sd 3 times (I do), flash rom....
If you want MikG3.11 there are suggested flashing instructions if you need those here
Post 3, skip step 4.

also if you go to the second post of http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html. it has important info on things like nandroid backup which you should have done before flashing an ICS rom. it also explains on how to flash roms and such.
