I would've thought it would be easier on a mac (haven't tried it) because some of the drivers are already there??!?
The steps just aren't very clear on Mac. I'm working from this guide: [GUIDE] Using ADB & FASTBOOT in OSX / Mac - xda-developers
Are you at the htcdev site now to unlock bootloader or are you done with that already?
I'm hung up on step 6 on HTCdev site to run the command. Working off the Mac guide I linked to earlier now. Not sure I'm even doing this right.
Ah, gotcha....not sure how to open a command window on a mac....is a command window on a mac called a "terminal"?
Ya, I've got terminal open but I'm stuck. I have no idea what to do.
It says "no such file or directory" and I have a feeling that's b/c of the "C". The harddrive on windows is probably "C" and it's not on Mac. The android folder is on my desktop.
o.k...then you need to type the path to it...whatever that may be.
like my path would be
C:\Users\support\Desktop\platform-tools
Ok....I did that and now it says "process completed"
process completed? hmm...
So, your android folder, that is on your desktop, should contain 3 files.
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
fastboot.exe
correct?
Edit: the fastboot.exe. might be something different on a mac. that was a different file that you unzipped in step 5c3

we also have an adb guide as well. not sure if it will make it easier or more confusing, buthere it is:http://androidforums.com/faqs/443072-adb-guide-updated-12-05-2011-a.html. there should be mac info in there.

No, not a bad idea, I'm just unfamiliar with a mac...do you have access to a windows computer? Only reason I ask that is, well, I know windows

I downloaded and unzipped "fastboot-mac". I'm not sure if I'm skipping a step but nothing's happening.
When you unzipped that file, was there something that needed to go into your android folder?
If there is that's not clear on the dev steps or anywhere else.

Should I then open that file with Terminal? I'm not clear what the next step is.
navigate to your android folder via terminal,
then type
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
