Help New update for prevail(Ginger Bread)

I dont know what version i had but i am on the 2 3 5 GB and can not send video text due to low memory which that message stays in my notification and can't update my APPS.....
i have already went to the APPS and uninstalled and moved what apps i could to my SD Card still having memory issues......can i backup my phone onto my sd card..
 
I had previously rooted my phone and thus the gb download didn't take, so I downloaded the rooted gb from the previously mentioned Odin thread. I did unmount my sd card first hoping that if my stuff was lost in the download, I could just utilize the sd card to recover them. Well, I did lose all of my apps and contacts, but my sd card says there is nothing on it! Is it because it is partitioned? If so, how can I access the partition (forgive me if this doesn't make sense, I am not too technically advanced, only enough to get by)? Thanks!
 
For some reason, my battery seems to be draining faster with the Gingerbread update for the Samsung Prevail. My background data transfer and GPS are turned off, so those shouldnt be causing any problem. With moderate texting and calling, my battery seems to last maybe 7-8 hours as opposed to 16 or more before the update. Any suggestions?
 
Ok, I had already rooted my Prevail before Samsungs update. So it failed, I then tried the Odin rooted GB version the phone works fine I like it better than before.Only prob. now I have to clear data in the market app in order to download from market or get updates.I also constantly get "Google Talk Authentication fail" notifications. How do I correct these issues????? This Is my first andriod phone. (Still Learning)
 
Just something great about Gingerbread that I've noticed.
With Froyo, my phone used to freeze about three to four times per day! :mad:
But now with Gingerbread, it hasn't frozen once since I installed it! :D

I have less insternal storage. But I'd rather not have my phone freeze all the time. ;)
 
is it possible to completely kill yahoo mail without uninstalling it? I've gone to Manage Apps and tried stopping the Yahoo Push notification and it keeps restarting.
 
Well I bricked my galaxy prevail had to send back to Samsung. They were nice enough to fix it and send it back. It was a full brick i could it to do anything completly dead.
It now has the update Gingerbread ejo6 2.3.5. I really like it its more stable. Can tell the
Difference. But I have not been able to root it when i try says the boot loader name has been changed. Any body have any Ideas please let me know.
 
I started off with the phone in it's normal state, the original Froyo install, with no mods or anything else, and had it rooted from a while ago. With a fully charged battery and the power cable still plugged into the wall outlet, I did a factory reset through the main menu. The phone auto downloaded the Gingerbread update, so I did the install of it. Everything was fine and I did another factory reset from there. Then I rooted the phone, and after all checked out good, I did another factory reset. Then I installed CWM.

I did the factory resets just because I wanted to have everything start fresh with what I was doing, but probably more do to ocd.

What I did notice however, was if I started off with a "fresh" (factory-resetted) phone and followed the directions in these posts exactly, I had everything work on the 1st attempt with no issues at all.

And everything works great, no issues so far. Just wanted to throw that out to anyone having problems. And by the way, I really have no idea what I'm doing half the time. ....... i think.
 
this is terribly wrong and forum abuse. On the other hand I understand the limtiations are so people dont abuse the andriod forum for spam and what not.

Honestly, I need something to help fix these videos. They are for court with my daughter. I could use a 1 on 1 that could help me. Even if i send the videos to you could you fix them? Chan4bb@gmail.com is my email. I need a fix fast. Been googling the last few days. everythign seems to be refering to youtube vids not working. Im scared to mess up my phone. So if someone could give me a hand. Id appreciate it. Ima ninja assasin so if I could trade my rediculously awsome skills for some help. Im willing -.-
 
I rooted my prevail when it was on Froyo. Seems like no one else was able to get the update to Gingerbread when rooted, but I got it just fine and everything installed just fine. Problem is, root access is now gone, and when I try to connect the phone to my computer, it wont recognize it, so i am unable to root it again.

Anyone else having this issue?

Does anyone know how to root a prevail after the gingerbread update? Ive never modified or done anything to it yet and have been reading with a pretty good understanding of what needs to be done but I just need the step by atep instructions to root and possibly use the cy mod. Im mainly concerned in getting it rooted first. Any help is appreciated.

Ok can anyone show me how to root and get gingerbread on my prevail thnx because im stuck you tube just shows they have it but not how to do it
