new update kills shootme?

So whats our alternative now that shootme is dead?

Yeah I just noticed that ShootMe was dead after the update. I'm really surprised that there is no built in option to do something as simple as taking a picture of your screen.

It only worked before because of a security hole in the system. Even their market page says it requires a rooted device. I think I prefer a secure phone versus a screen shot app. It would be nice to have that feature return.

So far I have noticed that the Android wallpapers are gone also. I thought I messed up my phone until I saw your posts above. I didn't really use them. I like the HTC ones better. But it was still nice to have that option.

Is it just me, or does anyone having a problem with the shootme app? All of a sudden it's a rooted access only?

But...why? I understand them trying to stop the free tethering and such with roots, but a screen cap app? Why would they care about that?

I'm sure they weren't going after that app specifically (or that ability), it is just a side effect of whatever security update they did employ.

App always required root. Says so in market. BUT ... a security hole allowed it to work on non rooted devices. That hole fixed, now need root access as the developers intended.

Nothing to do with Sprint.
