on orange uk, had DHD for a couple of weeks.
didn't think to check the version number before the install but it was updated to 1.84.61.2 & the Android version is showing as 2.2.1 , said it was a perfomance & camera update.
on first look, lock menu & the usb connected options menu has changed , bit more snazzy!

meant it looked different but after looking round properly it seems all the icons & menu graphics are all messed up. loads are things are displaying in the wrong place, virtually impossible to make a phone call as the keypad is at the top of the screen!
reboot doesn't seem to resolve anything either

woke up this morning, the big grey tick on the clock widget has disappeared and the weather icon is now displaying correctly.

this is after hitting the phone button, the keypad is a the top and the phonebook names are hidden behind the keypad

Why are you all searching for a new update when the OP has posted that it was a mistake!!
And why is everyone nagging about this so called "update", when there has been a news release from HTC (among those writers forwarding this news is Engadget) that the next update to any HTC phone is going to be the 2.3 Gingerbread update, and the last update to come out was the disasterous 2.2.1 update just before New Year 2010.
Give it a break. NO new releases before end of Q2, meaning earliest in May and most highly likely June...

Same details as mine, I have noticed no change to icons or things moving around although did change my homescreens straight after. This morning I've watched a video
and have noticed a massive difference in the quality of SRS sound through headphones , and I mean a massive difference. Happy days it sounded shit before. Am also monitoring battery performance

interesting! wonder why my phone is behaving so strangely?
it certainly seems to boot up faster, also downloaded dialer one to get around the problem with the phone keypad but still need to resolve the issues.
Another thing i've noticed is that all the icons on the shutdown menu has changed, facebook now displays for shutdown option.
does anyone know if a factory reset would help?

factory reset didn't do anything so called up orange, they said it was a htc update so need to speak to them. htc said that i need to send it for repair and it will be about a 2wk turnaround.

Got this update this morning. On Orange. It said camera improvements.
Results: Camera seems to take better pictures in that they do not blur and it seems to take them quicker. (will try tonight in low light see if its made any difference there.)
Speakerphone seems quite a bit louder? Oh and i think youtube updated as well? may be a coincidence.
Now running 2.2.1 but i didnt check what it was running before !!

I'm Orange unbranded and I've not got it yet so I can only presume it's Orange branded only.
