Ok. I'm a little confused here.

I just got my NC and did autonooter no problem.

Somehow I've wound up in the nook stock application (with library/settings/etc) and I can't figure out how to get into my android home screen so I can get to the market and install/run apps.

The first time after autonooter, it asked me to the sign in, which I skipped, but somehow I wound up in the NC stock app and can't get out of it, even if I reboot.

It boots up and says complete action and gives me a choice of home or softkeys and both take me into the NC stock app.

What am I missing?

EDIT: Figrured out that I had to go into Extras, but see next post.

Looks like I have my gmail downloading, but when I go into market, all apps that I try to download just get stuck on starting download.

What am I doing wrong now?

Is there a way to add accounts? What if I don't want the gmail app to sync my email? Where do I turn that off?

Welcome to the Rooted NC Club! You may need to completely turn off and restart your NC several times after you root. I don't know why, but I had to do it, and I know one person that had to do if 4 times before his apps would load. The NC is a quirky piece of machinery.

You mean add email accounts? Sure you can. First, you will want to download a launcher from the market - I use ADW, some use Zeam. After that you will get the soft button on the bottom of the screen where you can click to see all of your apps. Email should be there, and you can set it up just like you would on any Android phone.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

When I do the whole thing with signing in through youtube, must I use an @gmail.com address or can I used a google apps for your domain address?

I guess it didn't like an apps for domain name. I actually created a new gmail account and used that and it seems to be working. Don't know if it was all the wiping/resetting that fixed it or using an @gmail.com usermame.

One more question for now. Do I need to turn off the auto-update feature of the NC so that it doesn't try to download some new firmware when it's available and screw up the autorooter?

If so, where do I do that?

I have read somewhere that it MUST be an @gmail.com address for youtube.

Apps will show up in the stock NC OS in extras after a reboot. But, if you download a launcher like Zeam or the like, they will show up in applications instantaneously.

hmm back up a minute, what do you mean by google apps account? is it an @gmail ?

No, it's an @mydomain.com, but my domain is with google, so I'm using the gmail interface, mail servers, etc.

Some guides I read say it will absolutely not work if I try to make my primary account on the NC a google apps for my domain account (not @gmail.com).

Is that why it didn't work?
