New user looking for tip, tricks, and rooting advice.

I am a Droid X1 owner and love the open android software. I wanted to join a forum that thought the same.

I was just looking how I could be more involved in this software. I am looking into rooting my phone. The reason for this is I hate the user interface Motorola has put on top of android. I am just wondering if there are different flavors of rooting your phone. Maybe that could give just give a pure android experience?

The ROM devs and themers have done some great stuff for the Droid X, even given the limitations imposed by the locked bootloader. You'll find lots of great information in the link that Bobcat kindly provided you.
