Is "unbricking" the device the same as "Jailbreak" with iPhone??

Thanks I am so new to all this I didn't even know Android was Linux based system and I know NOTHING about that

Hey ToXicBlonde! Its not quite the same. "Jailbreak" is a closer term to "Rooting". Unbricking is when the phone is messed up, and you are returning it to an operational state. Jailbreaking and rooting is gaining access to extra features and abilities by gaining a deeper access to the phone than is originally granted by the manufacturer.
