Hi, new member, new Desire...

Loved the phone for 4 days; now it turns itself off after 4-5 seconds if I don't keep jiggling the screen continuously.
Tried taking the battery out, tried hard reset. Now it's up to you!

Turns itself off as in the phone shuts down, or as in it goes to sleep and you have to tap the power button to turn the screen back on?

turns off completely so I need to press the power button and re-enter password.

I think I may have fixed it by going into settings, display, screen timeout. I changed it from 1 minute to 2 (it was 4-5 seconds as I said, not 1 minute) and it doesn't seem to happen anymore.
