is that truy of xplod as well?

do i need to reflash the kernel, and should i stick with Tiamat 3.3.7sbc or choose anotehr one base on the ROM i choose

thanks in advance

All of AOSP is bare bones.

Decks seems to have a pretty strong following. Give it a go.

Theres no reason not to try them all. It only takes a few minutes to flash.

so what means "bare bones" what is missing?

@littlereddot..what dont you like about xplod?

will try decks tonight..what kernel is best?

looking to try CIUI when it stablizes

Barebones means the essential stuff to work. Whats missing Gapps programs and Sense. Most Asop's will need Gapps and thats about it. Besides any programs you want

Most agree with Tiamat 3.3.7

I vote for xplod. It's very fast and smooth. And it looks just plain beautiful.

Will try xplod over the weekend, just put on decks seems ok so far, can't figure out how to get themes or wallpaper to work, they don't seem to be 'sticking' per se....

Not as crazy about the interface as I was about miui...

Xplod used to lag alot for me. For some reason, I think it's not for my phone.
Might try it again this weekend though.

I believe SalvageMod 1.4 is the smallest ROM out there for the EVO, so of you want your ROM to be light, go with that.

I just though it was a little laggy, and it was step behind me at every turn. Nothing worse tha waiting on your phone for every little thing. TBO if I would have spend a couple of days flashin other kernels and tweaking I may have gotten it to work better, but I don't have that time.

Deck deck deck!

I recommend his 1.3d beta over 1.3 stable

Linky?
I only found the stable one...

Xplod is not cutting it for me...nice to look at, don't like the bottom folders tho, and chewed my battery fast, I know I should let it settle but some things are laggy as littreddot said, even tough to open w the power button....

possible new MIUI (2.2.2) to try for the evo, picked this up from a thread in MIUI.us

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/60400497/MIUI2.2.2en-by(SJD).zip

i am not sure tho how much different/stable this is from the 2.1.13-mod as there was some reference to the 2.1.13 being a mod of the above 2.2.2...

folks claiming no FCs...

might give it a whirl, if some tries before me, let me know..

btw..back to MIUI 1.12.9 for now, liked but didnt love decks, xplod wasnt for me...

I personally like CM7 as well as many other people. AOSP ROMs are great because each one of them is so different from the next. Check my signature or here for a complete list of available ROMs and other valuable root information for the HTC Evo 4G.

I tried the newer MIUI build yesterday, 2.2.2 sjp mod (there is a 2.2.3 but doesnt seem stable for EVO yet), runs smooth, i am too new at this to know exactly what differences this has over 1.12.9, but on the surface it seems to run the same. ( i am looking for the changelog)

It has still a lot of Chinese characters in places (calendar eg) but it doesnt interefere with phone function. Still no 4g, everything else seemed to work. I went back to my 1.12.9 for now, just because of the chinese characters...

but for MIUI fans, you may want to check it out.
