Root NexTheme ESE81 R3 Release (4/21/10) - New Goodies!

I got an HD camcorder off Woot! a couple of days ago, and it's here. I'll be posting a little video of the ROM very soon.

Good advice!

Yeah, I left otacerts.zip in cause of this whole deal with it possibly draining battery life.

Just accept the update. Your recovery will block it, and you'll never see the pop up again :D

I removed (I should have renamed) that file when you suggested last week and have NOT had a battery issue, in fact with this ROM it is the best battery life out of all that I have tried

Ok so thinking of flashing this tonight to see if it will help with the battery drain I seem to be getting with JRummys... anyone notice how the battery life is with this?

Do I need the lastest version of sprecovery to flash this rom? im currently running 99.2b

No, that should be fine.

My battery life has been excellent.

Hmmm I've been trying to figure out what's causing my batt life to suffer lately. Been running your 1st ROM. I thought it might be one of my apps, but you're saying it's because you removed otacerts from your 1st ROM and that somehow is causing batt drain? How would that affect batt life, just curious.

I didn't take otacerts out of the first ROM either. People say if you rename or remove it, it can cause bad battery life because the phone will try to repeatedly download the 2.1 update.

It may be an app, or the kernel you are running, or your SetCPU settings. There are too many factors without more info. :(

This ROM is sick!!! I was running BB 7.9 for a loooong time and it was time for a change. The icons, the launcher, everything works great. Thanks Fab!

Well, I tried this ROM and it is truly beautiful -- but I'm back to BB v0.8 because, even with a 1.2Ghz kernel, I had noticable lag on Sweeter Home 2 (even after removing all the apps/widgets from the screens of the other 2 launchers, and even after removing one, and then both other launchers), where I had NO lag on BB. I can't live without my SH2, so I'm staying with BB for now. Thanks for all the hard work and the beautiful theme, Fab!

Well, I just got done installing this over your 1st version, I didn't wipe Data or cache

(actually I tried that first and had issues restoring with Ti Backup) so I reinstalled (from Nandroid) and then installed this over

I will let you know how it goes, Oh yeah I used Clockwork for it too

so when I try to install google goggles I have insufficient space?

but yet I have 28MB avail in the system folder..

any ideas?

EDIT: Not going to worry.. I never really used it anyway.. no big loss

so far everything else is working

Ok so far I am sold... and this is coming from someone who is a Cyanogen fanboi (it was my first ROM, and this is the first ROM I have tried that isn't Cyanogen)... So far I'm loving it, haven't had time to check the battery life but I will get to that tomorrow...

If your phone is like mine it will like the battery life

funny how it always seems no 2 droids are a like for battery life

I've found the battery life so far to be superb. I'm liking P3Droid's kernel more and more as I use it.

Also, I've run into the problem with "insufficient space" on other ROMs before Jeff. I think with Cyanogen once, while I was trying to install Handcent. A reboot fixed it for me.

Also, there still may be "traces" of Goggles, since I had it as a system app in my previous version. You can look under settings, apps, filter, all, and see if you can find goggles and delete it. The "rememnants" should only be a few hundred kb. You should then be able to reinstall it from the market.

Otherwise, I'm glad lots of people are having success with this ROM!

so if i get notified about update i accept then what happenes nothing will happen or will it try to do something?

It'll reboot into recovery, where it will either be blocked, or will try to update and fail. No harm done. When you reboot back into the phone, the message will never come up again.

That was it, there were still some traces of goggles, I removed them and it installed with no issues..

So has Battery life with P3s been better then you previous version?

So far so good, you just need to get the full screen browser and you have a winner :)

I have fantastic battery life, but i have a aweful glitch that crashes my phone on remount of SD card.. I had it happen with one of petes older roms as well.

Everything is running great, really smooth, very minimal lag and so far the battery life is as good or better than any ROM i've tested. Nice work!
