I have been using this (R2) since 13APR and I wanted to let you know what I think.
Everything works great, this is the best one that I've tried and and haven't felt the need to change yet. After OCing, and all the other things that you need to do...it is fast responsive, doesn't overheat, the highest I've gotten it is 107F. Good job, I wish I had the magic to make these custom ROMs.
I do have some comments that I've come across or was wondering about:
1. [I don't think I can manually change this] When you are in the phone, call log, contacts, and favorites; selecting the tabs pushes the actual word down where you can't see the word anymore.
2. Sometimes when I reboot I will get a missed call notification that I have cleared out previously. [Don't know if it's the ROM or not but it has never happened before]
Things that I want that I don't know if I can change it manually with this ROM but probably can: I want the Nexus One boot up screen to replace the eye
I am going to update to R3 tonight hopefully, i loved the 3D app drawer can't wait to see it in action again.

Yeah, thanks for bringing that up. I posted up an official changelog too. That should be good for me too, so now I can remember what I did, lol

Yeah, the invisible text in the tabs is part of the theme. I'm on the fence about it, but I don't want to invest the effort into finding where that setting is and change it. It is bearable.
As for the other thing with the missed call notification, I don't really know. I think if you just clear your notification without actually clicking on it, it will come back. Not too sure.
As for changing to boot animation, just make sure it's named bootanimation.zip, and push it to /data/local.

I just tried to update to R3, using clockwork recovery, I followed the installation instructions and it installs just fine; however when I hit the reboot system now button it reboots, shows the Motorola sign, goes back to a black screen, shows the Motorola sign again and takes me right back to clockwork recovery mode. What is going on? Is this bad?

I had the same problem and i installed with sb recovery. I wiped all data an did a fresh install, but still had the same problem. So i just skipped it an went to BB1.0 instead

Same problem here, from SB Recovery. I was on R2. Did a factory wipe and everything...

It's rebooting back into recovery for all of you?
I just retried the update.zip file, but it booted right up for me. You guys only wiped data and cache (factory reset), or did you wipe system and boot as well (full wipe, which is what I did)?
Anyways, I'm really sleepy, I'll look into it a little more tomorrow, sorry!

So, Helix Launcher 2 is now a part of R3 (i.e., we don't have to get it from the market). Is it SNAPPY?! When you press the launcher button, does it stall for a few seconds before the app icons actually show? I have yet to use a launcher 2 that hasn't had this "stalling" issue.
If one is already running R2, should we simply rename this to "update.zip" and do the deprecated thing in SPRecovery?

updated over R2 and Helix 3D launcher is FCing constantly. Although it worked for a short bit.. Might go back to r2..
I did not Wipe Data and Cache, I also forgot my data cable so I need to leave it alone until tonight.. going back to R2 for the day will install Helix2 from market to see if I get FCs

okay I installed helix2 from the market on my R2 and it works fine..
My best guess is in updating there was an issue (maybe because helix1 was still in there before update. I will try tonight uninstalling Helix1 and then update or just do a wipe, only thing was last time I did a wipe and restore with TiBu, some stuff would not restore

Same problem here Fab, even after a full wipe and fresh install. Goes right back to recovery. I am sure you will get it figured out...

Okay.. reinstalled your R3 I download last night (before the added widgets)
Working great now, I installed it over R2, no wiping. I found my FC issue with Helix2
I started to add widgets to Helix2 in your R2 version. Once I added the Battery Left widget I was getting FCs. remove the widget from the screen and all is good.

It seems that there is an issue with the Battery Left 1x1 widget and Helix2... Myself and a few others were seeing this as well on CM... We need to take it up with the Dev of Battery Left or Helix2... I've been able to use the bigger BL widget with no problem on Helix2 with CM...

I'm having the same problem. I renamed the download link to update.zip, placed in the root of the SD card, and wiped data/cache before applying the update.zip. The Motorola logo flashes for a few seconds, goes black and then the phone goes to SPRecovery (instead of the Droid eye).

Thanks Jeff. I think I know what happened. I updated the R3 file with the widgets, tested the file on my computer, then uploaded it. I did not then redownload the file and test it. My guess is that it got corrupted in the upload
I'm so sorry to everyone whose phones got stuck in the reboot loop! This is the original file that I uploaded (and Jeff confirmed is working)

Don't install that MotoTorch just yet, here's an updated version that looks a little better in landscape mode:

Also, I did find a couple of bugs last night
The music thing is because the app was modded, and came from CyanogenMod. I remember the same issue when Pete ported the Milestone music player. I don't think it's too big a deal personally.
As for the dock, I think it was HelixLauncher2. It gave me the choice to choose the default, but I had to undock it first, wait for HL2 to become responsive, choose a default and redock it. Then I never saw the issue again.

-When you fast scroll in the Music app, the pop up letters are incorrect
-It may hang the first time you put it in the Multimedia dock, if you have both the media station and desk clock installed. Either choose a default, or uninstall the one you don't want to use. Only happens once
