This one has a two inch pop-out tab on the back that rests on the desk or in this case your lap to support the back. I know my wife's iPad keyboard is self supporting as the back tucks into the bottom for support. So as long as you don't create a hole in the wrong place in your lap while your sitting, this is fine. I really got this one for my desk. The other one for elsewhere.

I just ordered the same one with the keyboard. Since the keyboard is removable I did not think the one without it is needed. I found though a stylus is a must with these.

The bad thing about a stylus is I use the system, and subsequently the battery up, more quickly. A keyboard will probably use up the battery even faster. So far though this has given my laptop a huge rest. It goes on now every couple of days or so.........

Your pretty much spot on when you say you only need the one. I thought when I was buying the one without the keyboard that you could use it in landscape and portrait mode, like the one I had for my fire, but I was wrong. I should read a little more closely. But, the two of them are made of different material and they operate entirely different.
 
I ordered the Poetic HardBack Protective Case on pre-order for like $5. It is really, really, tight fitting. So tight that I feel uncomfortable using it because it is very difficult to push into the case & also to remove from the case. I am using a generic neoprene sleeve until I can find a case I like.

I would really like it if Google or Samsung would release some official accessories. They are missing out on a lot of money! I would have purchased a dock and a smart-flip-cover with mine if they offered one.

Got my Poetic case today, the fit is awesome. It is nice to have the keyboard as well. less mess from my oily skin on the screen..................
 
I would definitely buy a charging dock... pogo charger and maybe even an official flip cover. they need to hurry with the official stuff.

They are missing out on so much potential profit here. I know (had they been available) I would have purchased a Case, Smart Cover, & the PoGo charger directly from Google. Now people are spending that money with other companies.

I just purchased the Roo Case form amazon for 5 bucks delivered. There are two sellers, one sells it for 1 cent with a $4.98 shipping and the other is a prime seller that sells it for 10 bucks delivered. I don't know what the shipping is for non prime members

For 5 bucks delivered, you can't go wrong. What i like about this one is that is is slimmer that the poetic, and he has a band on the back you can tuck your hand into to hold it more comfortably. The off and on when opened and closed works great as well, and all out-inputs are exposed.

Oh, and it is vegan, as in fake leather (G)

I ordered it on 1/7 form California and got it in jersey on 1/11, not bad.
 
From the other thread I ordered the pogo charger. While it will not be use full with the case and using the tablet sitting up it will be nice as a charged with the case close. Since we have a 6 pin pogo along with power there should at least be USB capability other. It would the be nice to see a powered doc with its own battery, USB, SD slot and the like, tf700t style, so we can have some expandability.

You would think that is the reason to have a "6" pin pogo port...........
 
Amazon has too many to mention. I just bought the SupSlim Case for 19.99 and love it. It blocks the right side speakers slightly due to the design but can't notice a sound difference from either side.
I also bought the stylus and would recommend one, it really helps.

Note: someone did a video demo of this case and how it works and that sold me on it. You get so many good and bad reviews your head explodes to be honest but the video said it all.
