Hello All,

Need some advice on broken Nexus 4.

I need to wipe the entire data of my Nexus 4.... The problem is that I cannot unlock the screen as one side of the screen is damaged.... I cannot do anything... Just before handing the phone to get it repaired I need to delete all the important data, pics, videos ....Any advice on how we go about doing this???

Please advice

Hi Thomas,

There are probably multiple solutions to this issue so I'll start with the simplest one I can think of.

All of your pics/videos etc, should be on the internal storage. Can't you just connect the phone to your pc and browse the files? Just move any files you want to the pc and move them back to the phone after repairs.

Also, I moved this into the nexus 4 section.

It shows as no new pics or videos were found on this device... I just took a random pic and I can see in the recent pics of the phone but as soon as I swipe to see more pics it shows a lock sign which mean you can only unlock the phone and then view the pics....

Most people would rather keep Most of what's on their phone and just be sure and get rid of any possibly offensive sheep pictures. :D

Another option would have been android device manager from the play store you can remote wipe a device using it.
