Nexus 7 LTE?

I went to a corporate Verizon store yesterday and they did everything they could to activate my Nexus. When they couldn't activate it, they started making excuses. They said it didn't have a 700 MHz antenna, the hardware wasn't compatible, and that it wasn't approved by Verizon. I listened to as much as I could before firing back with everything I knew. They realized I knew more than them and called a manager out. He said Verizon has blocked service to the Nexus even if you have a previously tablet-provisioned SIM card in it. I told him that was illegal and he said Verizon was sued an hour after they blocked the Nexus 7.

Those of you that put a tablet SIM card in your Nexus...does it still get service?

Unrelated: The battery symbol on my Nexus flips between red exclamation point and 52%. It also doesn't charge anymore. All of this has been for nothing now that I have to return it. Good luck to everyone still dealing with this Verizon garbage.

Google was never in the wrong when they claimed it would work on Verizon's network. They were counting on Verizon to follow the laws they swore to obey when they won the 700 MHz spectrum auction in 2008. Verizon has chosen to openly disobey those laws two years in a row now.

Yeah, I don't disagree with that in the slightest. I'm only saying that the specifically said Verizon instead in 700MHz or lte band 13 at the press event. But we all know it's Verizon's fault and the fcc really needs to flex it's muscles now before things get out of control.

Mine still works fine.. Posting from my N7 on their network right now..

If they can't configure it on their network, how can they know it is on their network
 
Yeah, reading the articles and comments regarding this crap Verizon is doing is always a good way to get my blood boiling. I will probably end up putting mine on AT&T because their data tablet plans are better than T-Mobile's. Got to love the ability to carrier hop and not be tied down to any one particular carrier.
 
I used the sim from my verizon jetpack in the N7 LTE, works great. The only problem i see is I was charged .20 for 2 text messages which i thought was strange.
 
I called Google on Tuesday and told them the problems I was having with my Nexus. A new one arrived before lunch today. The SIM I was using in the other Nexus worked immediately so I have 4G on a tablet again. I'm still paying for a smart phone plan on it though. I requested a replacement instead of a refund because I decided to believe that Verizon will fix this sooner than later. That, and I couldn't decide on a different tablet.
 
Just an update - n7 still working on Verizon LTE using a Sim from an old phone as a replacement for an existing Xoom which was under contract. It shows up on the website as a phone but I only get billed the $10 per month tablet charge so all is well I guess.
 
I am really close to pulling the trigger on this myself. Is that what you are running on VZW using a SIM that is already activated?

I have 3 phones (a RAZR MAXX, and 2 RAZR MAXX HDs) on my share everything plan, so could I use one of the SIMs from one of those three? Or would it have to be a tablet SIM?
If the tablet SIM is different, then I wonder if I were to "try" one of their tablets, which obviously would have a working SIM in it, then within 24 hours decide I did not want their tablet, but just the SIM, if that would work? Hmmmmm
 
I had an LTE Xoom on contract till November. I called and told them I was swapping devices and gave Sim card number. The Sim came up as a RAZR which is what it was from. She tried putting in nexus I'd but system wouldn't take it. So as she was telling me it wasn't going to work I was using it. So she left it as it was and it still work is fine. Not sure you could replicate now if they are blocking the device.
