I wish the Nexus had a few more of the Acer features, but

Jelly Bean
Higher Resolution Screen
Larger Battery
Cutting edge updates from Google
and the fact I already pre-ordered one :D

Winner=Nexus 7

You know after reading what Stigy wrote on another page after I posted this I believe I will go with the Nexus 7 also.

No slot is not a deal breaker for me at all - just wish it was 16GB.

BUT do remember that ICS/JB do support USB OTG so just buy a OTG cable from eBay and you can plug huge flash drives into it for media consumption. I can plug my 64GB flash drive in my Galaxy Nexus and have a TON more storage.

Undecided. I was initially all-in for the N7 but with lack of microSD it makes the thing little more than a glorified Kindle. And I already have one of those.

The A110 has microSD plus HDMI out for the same price. Downside: screen may not be as good, and not the latest-and-greatest Android updates (but since most of the updates seem to be focused on The Cloud, who cares?)

So I will wait until both devices are actually out and see how well they actually perform, especially from a road warriors perspective.

It looks as thought the nexus 7 does not support USB OTG..... kind of a bummer, even then I would think having a USB device hanging off the device adds a bit much to the profile and for me would be inconvenient. Ill be waiting for the Acer, the extra storage when I don't have access to a cloud is too important for my workflow. MHL is also a concideration here.

But in all fairness the nexus 7 still does seem a great device for a home media reader and is looking like a great X-Mas present for my oldest daughter. As I understand it OTG being a software update Google might get enough pressure to add it.
