Nexus One update: Frg83d

Hey guys,

Yesterday at night (around 11pm) I received the message saying that there was a two-part update for my unrooted/stock N1 (2.2.1). It said i needed to plug-in in order to apply the update, which I did.

The phone showed off a count down, then it restarted and then... nothing, it rebooted in normal mode right away. I checked in "About Phone" --> "System Updates" and it's all blank, nothing special there.

It looks like i'm still stuck on FRG83.

Any idea on what could've happened? Is there a log of the system updates results?

Thanks guys!

Same thing has happened to me. It's been well over 24 hours since I received the first half of the update and I've been waiting for the second half ever since. I've tried checkin and rebooting and I have made sure to keep the battery fully charged... Nothing seems to work. I'm still on FRG83.

My market apps won't update now :( It shows it's updating for 10 seconds and then the notification dissapear. When I try to find it again in my Download section, the app identification has gone back to 'normal' (i.e. it doesn't show that it's installed) and I have to install the app again...well I already have the app on my phone....not sure what this glitch is. Can't seem to install apps as well :( Same issue as updating apps *sigh* is anyone having this issue too?

Not sure if this is the update issue...or it's a market issue. I remember I read somewhere that there was an issue with app installing on the market awhile back.

I don't really update many of my apps...but I vaguely remember that the ones I've tried have 'stalled' and I kind of forget about them...

MARKET --> INSTALL --> DOWNLOADING --> DOWNLOAD UNSUCCESSFUL --> :( Reply here if you have the same problem! - Android Market Help <--I think I have a market issue O.o

I am having no issues.. in fact i just updated the directv and lookout apps. Didnt you say you never received the second part..? if not it may be time for a manual update

No I have the second part of the update. I'm on FRFG83D. What I meant in my earlier post was that I didn't read and didn't know that there were two parts to the update XD

I still haven't received my second update. (It's been over 24hrs since 1st update)

For those of you who previously posted stating the same issue... have you received the second update yet??

Sorry, I'm not sure; I used a link to installer from an old invite email so it's possible..
It's 10.4MB and is version 2.10.52.13753t100.
I was half asleep at the time

Edit:Have just checked and the above is the latest version Swype BETA for Android UPDATE - November 2010

You have to make sure you wait after the installation; once the installer finishes doing it's thing click "OK" then you have to wait a few seconds while it registers otherwise you will get that message.

I had the same issues because as soon as it finished id back out immediately; but you can't do that.

Thanks a million for your reply guys, I was getting the dreaded "Download of package failed, Swype is already installed" message all day today. Wound up following the steps here and was finally able to get Swype installed.

Anyway, back on topic. Aside from the faster gallery and slightly different market, I had the strangest thing happen to my N1. During my many attempts at installing Swype, I used the back button to exit Astro and every time I clicked the back button, it simply went back to every item I had up on the screen but never went back to the main/home screen. It simply kept going back to various apps/web pages/etc that I had open or used before that moment. The only way out was to hit home and a reboot was needed to restore proper function:confused: Weird...

Soupdragon. Wow, that name takes me back 20 years. I never knew the original tv show but I remember the band......"I'm free to do what I want...any old time......":D

I'm having the same issue as you do. Received the first update, but not the second. Tried to google the problem, but didnt find much info. My nexus is a stock one, not rooted.
Is there a way to contact google about this?

Re; Market issues, I had something similar a few weeks back, and fixed it by clearing data for the Market.

Same situation here. Unrooted N1, only got the first update more than 24h ago. Waiting patiently.

received it this morning. It completely messed up the phone :(
Became very buggy, slow, major SMS problems. Had to do a factory-reset. Working fine now, we'll see how long it lasts. Very sad about this :(

I am from the UK and am eagerly awaiting an OTA update. With Froyo, Vodafone took ages to look through the code, does anyone know if this will be done again with Gingerbread?

There will be a wait for 2.3 when released for sure.

If you don't mind wiping your phone, it's very easy to switch out the VF ROM for the Google one.

I received the OTA (UK non branded N1) just the other day so it looks like the Vodafone branded phones are slower to receive these updates.
