I bought mine from BB this past March, and I'm pretty sure my box was "un-sealed", but looked new and unhandled.

I immediately took it next door to the T-Mobile store for them to activate it and the phone had the protective plastic on the front and back and everything inside looked undisturbed and un-opened, like the wall charger and manuals. My phone also started up like it had never been used before.

I wouldn't worry too much unless the phone looks like it has been played around with or possibly returned. Remember, with BB on cell phones you have a 30 return window in the US. If you are suspicious that you may have gotten a return, just take it back. My BB had a demo model that had the plastic removed, and that everyone who wanted to see the phone played around with. They never took a new one out of one of the boxes for this purpose.

Best,

DH

I got my Nexus S from Best Buy, and I am very satisfied with it. However, apparently there are two types of boxes for the completely unlocked Nexus S and the one that comes with a T-Mobile contract, and I got the one with the T-Mobile contract. The Best Buy that I went to did not do T-Mobile contracts (is this the same for Best Buy Mobiles across the country?) so I had to wait two hours for the employees to order my Nexus S so it would be set up with a T-Mobile contract because they didn't have any of the contract boxes. My Nexus S came 2 business days later in the mail and I have been happy with it ever since.

I got mine from Best Buy and they took mine out of the box to make sure it was working for me. I set up my T-mobile account there so I guess that would be why.

The boxes and the phones are actually exactly the same for both the unlocked and T-Mobile contract versions. The only difference is that Best Buy has a different SKU for the two of them. I personally think it's ridiculous, since you end up with issues like yours where they have plenty on hand but won't give them to you since it's the wrong SKU. My local Best Buy didn't sell them on contract, so I actually drove an hour and a half out of my way to buy it. When I tried to exchange it due to a dead spot in the touchscreen, my local Best Buy couldn't exchange it because it was a contract version.

I got mine from Best Buy the day it was released and I was the first one in the door that day. The Mobile rep actually couldn't even find them for a while to sell them to me. Mine were unsealed. That is just the way they are.
