Nexus S - Screen?

Sorry if it's been answered before but I am just a few hours away from buying a Nexus S and have just got stuck at the checkout.

The website I am buying from has a Nexus S S-LCD and a Nexus S SAMOLED. The LCD is cheaper. Is this a mistake or are there two screens for this phone? Every YouTube review says it has SAMOLED screen.

Thanks for any advice!

Great thanks.

Right so if I'm buying from eBay there is probably no way I can tell off a standard description if it's one or the other. How will it be abbreviated on the package? Will it actually specify LCD Or SAMOLED?

I believe the AMOLED screen is the GT-I9020 and the SLCD is the GT-I9023. Be careful though; it's difficult to know how much the seller truly knows about their device. It's definitely possible that a GT-I9023 could be marked as a GT-I9020 if all they did was search "Nexus S" and chosen the first option.

How can I tell which screen I have?

Just look at the model number, either on your box or in Menu>Settings>About Phone under Baseband Version (it'll start with either I9020 or I9023; that's the model number).

The I9020 is Super AMOLED, and the I9023 is SLCD.

Thanks guys managed to get a new i9020 in UK. They seem to be pretty rare compared to the i9023. It was difficult sourcing one for a good price but got there in the end. I noticed the super amoled holds on to a higher price which is unfortunate but having looked at the comparisons I can see why! Bye bye iPhone 4 ;)

Hey, are you happy with it? Went similar way like you, first owned a i9023 then the i9020. But I am very dissapointed about the SAMOLED screen. What about you? community: Is it possible to replace a i9023 SLCD panel with a i9020 cell and backwards?
