Nexus Screen Protector Opinions?

gotmilk

Lurker
I have been researching for days what to pick as my screen protector as I want the right coverage for my phone. Money isn't a big issue. Has anyone tried invisibleShield, bodyguardz, spg?

I really want to get one of these. Any others are also welcome. I kinda want one that is anti-fingerprint if possible and I have a case with this (Rearth Ringke Slim). I just want people's opinions on this.

I've had my N4 for 2 months and it's still with the screen protector it came from Google, the one with the +/- and power symbols XD.

I'm using the spigen spg oleophobic on the front. I've been very happy with it. It feels good, and with a microfiber cloth wipes clean about as easily as glass.

I started with the spigen ultra crystal dual. I'm still using that protector on the back. I didn't like it on the front because it was noticeably harder to clean the screen.

Welcome to the forums gotmilk. Ghost Armor this is a link to you tube demo video is probably available at a mall near you. I say probably because you didn't fill out any location info in your Profile details. Ghost Armor is really tough and surprisingly easy to clean. I like it much better than Zagg protectors

This has me curious now. What are the prices like for this and how can you find out which malls have it? Also this looks like it takes a lot of abuse but does anyone know the comparison of screen clarity compared to the spigen screen protectors?

I despise all the ones that require "water". They fill like window clings.

I prefer the regular cheap ones off Ebay. Every phone Ive had, Ive always used those and to me they last the longest and they don't get scratched up as bad as the higher priced ones. Plus you can get 5 for like $3.

I have however resorted to buying a Rearth one but I'm still waiting on it. Only reason I even considered buying one from them is because their cases are top notch quality.

I normally just get cheapos too, I normally waste about 3 to get them on properly (I'm a total perfectionist when it comes to screen protectors and my normal method of using a little sticky tape doesn't work on the N4) so I don't see the point in wasting money as I find the cheapos do as good a job as anyway

That being said, I paid a little more for terrapin protectors and they're pretty good.

Ordered the Nexus 4 on launch day and peeled the screen protector off right away when I got it. To this day there isn't a single scratch on the screen. Gorilla Glass 2 is pretty durable.. The back of the phone however is scratched to hell. I call bullshit on Google/LG's claim that both the front and back are coated with Gorilla Glass. Who makes the back of a phone glass anyway?

Dude I'm the exact same way but luckily I've got my little method down pat so I usually get it the first try. Don't let there be 1 little bubble though. I'll have to pull it off and try again. haha.

But I just got my Rearth in yesterday. First time I've spent more than 10 bucks on a screen protector that wasn't the water kind. It is bad ass. I got 2 fronts and 1 back and I'm so glad I spent the money on them because they are just amazing. I will always have my cheap ones but depending on how long this one lasts I might just have to switch and spend the money for the good ones.

The back glass was iffy for me when I bought it but honestly it just makes me more aware of how I handle my phone and where I put it down at. Any reason why you didn't choose to put a screen protector on the back at least? Just curious. I left the plastic on mine until I got my screens in and it didn't start peeling or anything so I'm glad I did that. I'm sensitive like a woman when it comes to the condition of my phone. lol

I like the glass idea and of course it's sexy as ish but they could have used a more durable and stronger glass/plastic/etc... Hell, a piece of lexan would have been perfect. If lexan can withstand on the windshield of a nascar car then I think it would hold up on the everyday use on a cell phone.

I have a dbrand back and the bumper on the phone now, but unfortunately the damage has been done. You just can't see it now :p. I fell in love with the naked feel of the phone when I got it and didn't want to give it up. I'll still argue the need for a front screen protector though. I've used them on phones in the past and just didn't like the feel of them. My last couple smartphones haven't had screen protectors and I have yet to manage to scratch a screen.

I agree about the front needing one. But it's also been proven that a screen prtoector on the front will help in not letting a phone crack when dropped compared to one without a screen protector. I guess it's kinda like window tint in that it acts like a brace and has multiple points of contact so when dropped the energy is displaced through out the screen protector before getting to the screen. A lot of people called BS until several videos came out proving it.

But still, nothing beats the bareback naked feel of a phone so I couldn't agree with you more on that. Me personally, I have to have them on the front and back just because a good screen still feels as good as nothing at all. Can't help but to think about those awful cheesy trojan commercials when I typed that out. Hahahaha

Yeah, I just took my skinomi protector off to change after 3 months and noticed how more responsive the screen was with it off. I'm going naked from now on :D

Only have 1 noticeable scratch on the back. I've always had a TPU case on.

I've had mine over a month with no screen protector, and I carry it in my pocket, no scratches. I do have a ballistic case to protect the back though.

Has anyone actually scratched the screen on one of these?
