NFL Mobile updated will charge for games...

DirecTV is overrated garbage IMO. I have Dish Network and I pay much less per month for my overall package than if I was with DirecTV. Plus for the short NFL season I just add the $5.99/month multi sports package for the NFL Redzone channel. I don't need to pay $300 to watch every snap of every NFL game. When the season is over, I remove that package and I'm good to go. Not to mention Dish blows away DirecTV's DVR's.

Well i had app since june and watched game fine tonight, also talk my supervisor onto getting nfl app on his droid just tonight and he was able to watch live as well. After regular season starts i will be able to test the differences between my install date of 6/25 and his install date of 8/8.

I have DISH as well. Programming does rock.

As far as this app goes, that is right about the time I received my Incredible. So I think I miss out as well. I noticed the HOF game, no announcers could be heard. Maybe a good thing now that freakin Matt Millen is doing games.

Edit: maybe no announcer heard because it was simocast from NBC.

Thanks for the useful input

RedZone Channel might be enough for fans who live in their team's TV market, or if you don't have a specific team you root for. However, Sunday Ticket is a must-have for households like mine (I'm a Pats fan, wife is a Titans fan, but we live in Atlanta). I got the package for just $179, but this is something I'd gladly pay even $500 for.

At least u guys have the option to have an NFL app that gives you the ability to watch games.

I was able to watch the HOF game on my DI, just fine. It seemed to have about a 10 second lag from NBC HD, and the video was not unbelievable, but if I was somewhere not around a TV, I might use it to watch a game if I was interested.
Hoping regular season remains free.

of course you pay less, you get fewer channels.

thanks for playing our game...

The NFL does offer this- the only catch being you need to be a DirecTV subscriber. With NFL Sunday Ticket + Mobile Access package, you can watch games at home, on your laptop, or on your Android smartphone (though it doesn't include night games).

For anyone that does have DirecTV- it's fairly to easy to get the entire package for $179.99. You just need to call retention until a rep gives you the deal. If you give up after one try, you obviously aren't trying very hard. I was lucky this year as the first rep gave me the deal, but it may take you 3-4 calls. To me, it's well worth it.

That's not the same though. The MLB offers their Season Ticket package on cable or satellite or whatever. On top of that, they charge you $100-150 (depending on when you buy it) a year for the ability to watch all the games or stream the PBP audio to your computer or iPhone/iTouch. Then they charge you $15 on top of that for the app for your mobile device. You can go right to MLB.com and sign up for all of this. You can't do that with the NFL. The MLB is raping me for $130 right up front and I haven't even signed up for any sort of cable deal. It's ridiculous, but I don't mind. I gladly pay it because I'm a big baseball fan. I'm not so big of a football fan. Paying $180 for the NFL is ridiculous to me.

For $130 I can get audio and video of 162 MLB games for each team and audio of all the post season games on my computer and any of my mobile devices. For $180 I get audio of the 16 NFL games on my mobile devices. That's it. I can't stream the games online for that price. I can't go back and watch the game from last week. I can't watch the Broncos game live and go back and watch the Patriots game that happened to air at the same time later on right from my computer. I can do all that with MLB.tv though.

I believe you CAN do all that, if you get them to include the to go subscription with the $180 (which the person who originally brought up the $180 deal said he successfully did)...

To me that's still a ton of money. If I want just the MLB audio on a mobile device, I can get that for $15 a season. The NFL has nothing like that. It's more of an all or nothing deal.

So you're just looking for live NFL audio of every game? You can get that totally free for being a VZW subscriber. NFL Mobile Basic (which is free) includes live audio of every game. Here is the press release from VZW:

This doesn't include extra features like replays and such, but most fans only care about live coverage. My wife is a Sprint customer, and Sprint had NFL Mobile up until this year. I used her NFL Mobile for live audio many times.

I was not aware of that. I'll wait and see what the app can do for me during the season.

I don't need no nfl app. Why pay 120 a year. I just got the slingbox. Now i can watch more than the nfl live. Like over 200 channels live. Hahaha

Great idea waynester. I looked and found my proof under "thumbs" on my SD card and there they were with the dates they were installed. Let's make sure these guys do what they said they would. I used my astr file reader app.

I also looked under thumbs and found it. I click for details and it says that the date modified was 09-03. But when I click on the folder and look at the files in it, they all say 05-16. I honestly cannot remember when I downloaded the app...which of the dates is correct?

Why even use the NFL Mobile app anyway?

Just stream it!
you have a droid, come on!
