The big question is how do they know who downloaded the app BEFORE July 22. The market doesn't track Free Apps. Unless there was some code in the app pre Jul-22 and then it updates from there. But I also have been playing around with ROM's as of late and I've restored from Titanium so I'm sure I won't be getting the freebie even though I downloaded before July 22. Heck I even had the original app that they launched for the draft.

the market knows what apps you've downloaded, no? it should be able to see that you originally downloaded the old app, even if you uninstalled it for the new one (like i'm sure all of us did).
Ya, do tell. I just tried to get something from them, and spoke with retention department.
I told them I have a better offer from local cable, and that the 300 price was too high, and i also lose service when it sprinkles.
They offered me $10 off for the next 6/mo. LMAO
Guess they would rather lose my 150$/mo than give me a deal on Sunday Ticket.
I like many people I automatically delete the old version of the app and install the new one.. Plus I remember it not allowing me to do anything on the old app but upgrade to the new one.. I hope its true that we get grandfathered and not have to pay.. It sucks for other people that may just join vzw.. My gf has not downlded the app.. I will try out the theory and see if it will prompt her to buy. Nfl mobile was the first app I ever downloaded on my incredible

I only speak to retentions dept. You may need to insist on speaking to them. If you already have NFLST your renewal is 6 payments of $49.99 they offered me $20 for 6 months to offset the 49.99 to 29.99 and I asked them for the TO-GO option which is 9.99 for 5 months and they said they could waive that for me. A lot of the times it's based on years of service and payment history. I play this game with DirecTV all the time. I don't think I've ever paid full price for their service or Sunday Ticket.

the sunday ticket package seems useless to me now that they have the NFL REDzone channel.

Expect that the REDzone channel is part of the Sunday Ticket package so they make you buy the package to get the REDzone channel. Seems kind of stupid to include it for that.

I get the NFL network on Comcast, but not the Red Zone channel. What really pisses me off is that during gameday, the NFL network is nothing more than a glorified scoreboard. They could just pipe in the red zone channel then, but instead they nickel and dime you more for the red zone channel.
As far as the app, I'd put money on me not getting it, or the majority of people here. Which makes me mad because they said it was free when they first announced it a while back.

TO, Ocho, Bryant, Gresham, Simpson and of course Cedric the entertainer. Add in a top 5 D and this season is DEFINITELY worthy of watching games on my phone, no we have to pay? Grrrr.

I still have no idea why the NFL doesn't do what the MLB does. The MLB has basically raped my wallet and I'm enjoying every minute of it because I'm a baseball whore. I'm paying $99 a year for the ability to watch games on my phone or my computer. Then I'm paying $15 extra for the app that lets me watch the games on my iPod and another $15 for the app that lets me just listen to the games on my phone. I'm being screwed 6 ways to Sunday and I don't care.
I don't know why the NFL doesn't do something similar. I'd be willing to pay for a nice, legal way to watch all the games on my computer. I'd be willing to pay on top of that, for a nice, legal way to listen to all the games on my phone when I'm in the car. The game I want to follow is not always on locally.

The NFL does offer this- the only catch being you need to be a DirecTV subscriber. With NFL Sunday Ticket + Mobile Access package, you can watch games at home, on your laptop, or on your Android smartphone (though it doesn't include night games).
For anyone that does have DirecTV- it's fairly to easy to get the entire package for $179.99. You just need to call retention until a rep gives you the deal. If you give up after one try, you obviously aren't trying very hard. I was lucky this year as the first rep gave me the deal, but it may take you 3-4 calls. To me, it's well worth it.
